Please write MSG about road games in HiDef

I hope the mods can keep this as its own thread for a while so more people can see it.

For those of you with HiDef TV's, please write MSG and let them know disappointed you are about road games only being in SD. I just shot them off a letter.

msgnetpr@msgnetwork.com

Thanks so much! These games are too big to not cover in HD.

It's a lot of separate threads about one topic, the game on TV. When, who's commentating, links to cable operators, etc. It would be nice to condense the info into a single thread.

If you've ponied up for a $2000 television in order to watch the Rangers in HD , it would be nice to at least reap the benefits of such an investment.

Get Center Ice and you'll see the game.

You must be joking. When we're used to getting every home game in HD all season long it seems rediculous to most of us that we can't get the playoffs in HD. For whatever BS excuse they gave for not offering road games in HD in the first round it's pathetic that we have to watch SD in the freaking semifinals! When you're used to watching everything in HD it's brutal to have to watch in SD.

When you have a minute, could you please explain to me why MSG can't bring their HD cameras to HSBC arena?

I don't understand how this works and HD isn't available for all games at the most important time of the season.

I would appreciate it if you could shed some light on this.

Thanks again
Just wrote a nice response.

If im lucky enough to receive an answer and it a generic short one, then they are getting another email thats not as nice and a phone call to go along with it.

Especially when its the SAME network in Buffalo!!!

I can't see there being any red tape to go through at all. Its just laziness IMO.

Not to bust your bubble, but do you not understand how much money goes into producing HD? An HD truck I heard costs about $10 million and imagine how much the other equipment costs to produce HD. That's way too much for most RSN's to produce road games in HD. The majority of RSN's across North America most likely don't produce road games in HD. I know how it is to go from HD to SD. I have an HD set and going from HD to SD is worse than brutal. Though hopefully the RSN's will have enough money or will feel like paying to produce HD on the road one day...

Problem is, how many of us are going to email/call?

There are only 4 of us in here now *****ing about this, lol.

We need outside support people!!!

I would make a poll and ask how many of us actually get MSG-HD but there are too many threads similar to this today.

#1. It would be nice if MSG gave us this reasoning. (or any reasoning for that matter)
#2. Buffalo is covered by MSG also. No red tape. Just gas for a truck and set it up.
#3. Why offer HD if you arent going to supply it?
#4. Why have a channel called MSG-HD if more than half of the programs shown on it are in SD?
#5. It costs the customer alot money to buy these TVs and get the extra HD cable packages, i think they are doing just fine with $$$ part of it.
#6. The NHL should step in and make a better product.
#7. This is New York City, not Billings Montana.

Dear Mr. Atieh,

MSG will be broadcasting the Rangers Semifinal games in HD for the home games only. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Due to production reasons, we are currently striving to bring you away games in HD format in the near future.

Thank you for your viewership.

Regards,

MSG Media

We're you promised all these things when you bought the equipment?
