Hello,

I'm looking for some opinions on Bryan Berard's play this year ? How good has he been ? How physical has he been ? Every pieces of information would be greatly appreciated !

Thanks in advance !

Well, offensively, he's a big factor. He has a ton of points so far this year. Unfortunately, he's only a little better than delmore defensively, and gives almost as many goals as he makes

Still, he's a beast offensively. 7 points in the last 5 games (last 4 if you ignore the Washington shutout, where he got TEN SHOTS!?!?!)

He anchors the powerplay, he gets a nice amount of PIM's and he's a fantasy stud if you ignore his woeful +/- and Shooting %.

When I noticed him, he had something like 16 points in 22 games, but Yahoo fantasy hockey had him ranked miserably low. So, I traded Sydor and Lupul for Berard and haven't regretted it for a second. Now he has 28 points in 34 games (including 13 PPP), which are the kind of numbers you'd see Blake or Gonchar put up.

So he's definitely having a career year.

Berard

Any idea if the Hawks are interested in trading Berard and, if so, what they would be looking for in return? I would think not much since they got him for nothing but salary and he isn't signed past this year. But Dallas could really use a left shot Dman to play on the PP and I think Berard would actually fit pretty well.

Seriously, I heard that both Montreal and Boston are targeting him. Frankly, I hope Boston wins, I'd love to have him back. He's a hundred times better than McGillis and makes about a million less a year.
