He's the only Ranger nominee.

He shouldn't win, but...

his play during the last 60% of the season cannot go unrecognized, as well, it enabled the Rangers to go from 12th place to a playoff spot with momentum.

very very surprising.

still though, had he started the way he finished, he wouldnt just be nominated, he would be the runaway favorite for the hart, and the vezina.

I don't think he's going to win either, but it's an honor to be nominated in this particular category.

Shame it's not a beauty contest because the other Vezina candidates definitely fell off the back of the ugly truck.

Fantastic. Well deserved, he symbolizes this team perfectly. Stumbled a bit out of the gate, but eventually hit his stride and hasn't looked back.

Congrats your majesty

I think Brodeur gets the Vezina, but what a great thing to be nominated...some amazing goaltending company with Hank...

CONGRATS TO THE KING!

Way to go, Henrik! The nomination is well-deserved.

I am sort of surprised about Malkin for the Calder, though....

CALDER MEMORIAL TROPHY (outstanding rookie): Evgeni Malkin, Penguins; Jordan Staal, Penguins; Paul Stastny, Avalanche.

FRANK J. SELKE TROPHY (outstanding defensive forward): Rod Brind'Amour, Hurricanes; Samuel Pahlsson, Ducks; Jay Pandolfo, Devils.

HART MEMORIAL TROPHY (most valuable player to his team): Martin Brodeur, Devils; Sidney Crosby, Penguins; Roberto Luongo, Canucks.

JACK ADAMS AWARD (outstanding coach): Lindy Ruff, Sabres; Michel Therrien, Penguins; Alain Vigneault, Canucks.

JAMES NORRIS MEMORIAL TROPHY (outstanding defenseman): Nicklas Lidstrom, Red Wings; Scott Niedermayer, Ducks; Chris Pronger, Ducks.

LADY BYNG MEMORIAL TROPHY (sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct): Pavel Datsyuk, Red Wings; Joe Sakic, Avalanche; Martin St. Louis, Lightning.

LESTER B. PEARSON AWARD (most outstanding player as voted by fellow members of the NHLPA): Sidney Crosby, Penguins; Vincent Lecavalier, Lightning; Roberto Luongo, Canucks.

VEZINA TROPHY *** (outstanding goaltender): Martin Brodeur, Devils; Miikka Kiprusoff, Flames; Henrik Lundqvist, Rangers; Roberto Luongo, Canucks.

I predict -

Vezina - Brodeur
Lester - Lecavalier
Lady - Sakic
Norris - Lidstrom
Jack Adams - Vigneault
MVP - Brodeur
Selke - Brind'Amour
Calder - Staal (though they will give it to Malkin)

That's actually pretty shocking... but sweet none the less. It's like last year though, no chance the guy wins it.

Hell, when's the last time a rookie came in to qualify for for two Vezinas in his first two seasons?

(not asking... just pondering...)

edit: looks like Nich beat me to the pondering
