Nice job...maybe he can win it next year

I'm under no illusions that he'll win it this year, but it's nice to see his second half play get recognized.

Wow, it's gotta be nice to have 2 Norris trophy finalists in your defense.

This will a great boost of confidence for him, hopefully. I think he deserved to at least get nominated this year and I'm happy he did

He'll win it next year for sure

Its funny how some think that Hank being up for the Vezina is just the league throwing the Rangers a bone.

A lot of Rangers haters are going to be surprised and jealous over the 10 years. Nice. Very nice.

This team is setting itself up for a winning future, and so far i know that this teams playoff run, the sweep and Game 3 will have alot to do with that.

And Lundqvist is the backbone of it all.

Well deserved.

Of course, there is a thread on the Fishies board debating the merits of Lundqvist getting nominated for the Vezina.Along with the three other threads discussing Ranger related topics

Yup, that's total BS. Mikka Kiprusoff also got nominated and there is no way he had a better season then Henrik. Who said this anyway?

WOW!!! No way did I think Lundqvist would be a Vezina nominee this year, but it looks like I foolishly underestimated how amazing his second half of the year was. I should probably go back and review his stats...

Who was the last goalie to be nominated for the Vezina in his first two seasons? Brodeur? Maybe Kiprusoff?

The article on TSN.ca about the nominees said it was due to a tie in votes.

The way he's playing right now, he rarely lets in ''soft goals'' anymore.

The only way to beat is by screens, deflections and perfect shots.

Congrats to Henke.

Good newz, hope this gets him even more pumped up for the coming games, if that even is possible?

He is in good company and I am sure of him winning it some day but not this year, Luongo or Brodeur will clinch it.

Regarding those who doubt his candidacy, I'm reminded of the arguments against joe thornton for MVP last year...

if he wins the Hart for a great second half, then Lundquist certainly deserves at least a nomination for his.

Can't really make the Thornton argument...

considering that in the end, he led the league in scoring and he started to pour it on in December; Henke was more like Jan/Feb.

But Thornton shouldn't have won the Hart. It was clear the Hart was based purely on the point statistic.

Jagr was the best player in the league last year, and everyone knows it. Whether some want to admit it...that's a different story.

Congrats to Henrik!!!! To be nominated two years in a row in your first two seasons is a nice acomplishment. I don't see any way he will actually win it this year, but I am sure will have one or two by the time his career is done.

Grats to Lundqvist!

Glad to see his unbelievable playing didn't go unnoticed. Obviously he won't win it though but its great he was nominated.

Congratulations Henrik!

Edit: Also congratulations to Samuel Påhlsson, if there is one player who has been overlooked the last few seasons it's him.

True, and that month probably makes the difference between winning the award and just being a finalist. If Henke had turned it on in December the way he did later on, he probably wins the Vezina, or at least has a shot.

As it is, I think a nomination is just right. My comparison was more to the situation... slow start with a great second half = good play still fresh in peoples minds when they vote on the awards.
