05/03/07 Practice Update

For the Future is Now crowd: Nylander skipped practice, so Betts filled in, which meant that Jaarko got to skate with the 4th liners today, although nothing is expected to change tomorrow.

Jagr cracks me up.

I guess that indicates that Jarkko is the no.1 choice to fill in if a center goes down.

I have a feeling that this will lead to Geico having some sort of hockey commercial.

Bummer that Nylander got sick.

And yes, Geico should shoot another caveman ad with Jagr as one of the cavemen.

Could Jagr take these playoffs any less seriously?

My favorite line from him so far is: "I thought you were still behind the net" to Lundy after game 4.

well if that was the case why have Betts on the first line and Immonen on the 4th?? that makes no sense

Maybe Renney's throwing Betts a bone for his solid play? Maybe he doesn't want to disrupt any groove that the Avery or Cullen lines have going but doesn't feel Immonen should step in with Jagr and Hossa.

You implying that Jagr doesn't care or something? Hope you meant something different than how it is written.

Immonen is more of a playmaker than Betts. Immonen i feel would be a better fit for Hossa and Jagr.

Hes taking it seriously. I just think that Jagr is being loose with the media now in this stage of his career. I think in Pittsburgh and Washington, the media scrutiny only got intense when things were bad, but Jagr has been around the media a lot since he came to New York, during the good times and the bad times, so hes a lot more comfortable talking to them.

We probably have the loosest dressing room of all the playoff teams. And it's been working wonders for us.

Man I think everyone is reading into this way to much. Immonen is only practicing with us incase there is a need to fill in. Nylander took the day off to get rid of the flu. Betts wont be on the first line for any reason. If for some wierd reason Nylander doesnt play...then Straka will get moved up.

Aparantly Nyls got the flu the day before the OT game according to a Swedish paper.

He was in pretty bad condition after the 2nd OT, they had to put him on IV. Was really drained out.
