I'd think about it...I wouldn't do it though.

Not taking into account anyone's personalities or habits, which could influence someone's opinion on a player, I'm looking at the last 5 seasons of goal production...32, 37, 14, 23, 18 (124 total) vs. 37, 26, 29, 35, 27 (154 total).

The player with 154 goals over the last 5 years is Satan. Yes, he's a little streaky, but usually at the end of the year, you pretty much know what you were going to get from him.

Kovalev's much more of a wild card. At one point (and possibly even now), he's probably more talented and has more playmaking skills than Satan, but he's a year older, and he presents a longer-term cap investment, for a guy who probably peaked 3-4 years ago with Pittsburgh.

So factoring in those things together, I'd have to say no on this one. If moving Satan can produce a high-level, steady defenseman however, that may be worth considering.

I'd rather stick my **** in a blender and set it to chop than trade Satan for Kovalev.

Oww. Too much information.

I am one of the so-called few that like Miro, too, but the difference to me between this past season and the prior one was striking. When he is on, he has incredible hands; they just seemed to disappear too much- too many points over this season saying, "and wait till Miro comes out of his slump". New baby? New coach? Something else? Don't know.

Question I wish I could answer is which one will show up for 07-08; this year's or last years.

But even so, wouldn't do the Kovalev trade; agree with NYYmt62 that if we trade him, I'd like to see it done to strengthen the blue line. I think that's the most critical weakness we need to address over the summer.

LOL! Richie is making a late push to surpass his "fist" post for POTY!!! I must say, though, I echo the sentiments -- I also would rather stick Richie's **** in a blender and set it to chop than trade Miro for Kovalev.

Should we have a vote on what is worthy of sicking Richies balls in a blender for? I can come up with a huge list.

I think Richie should be nominated as Poster Most Willing to Take One for the Team.

What a guy

Personally, I expect Richie's balls in a blender if that's what it takes to sign Smyth, or if it's the only way to convince Wang to buy-out Yashin.

Absolutely and he also should get an award for being able to make fun of himself (check his profile, under his name, where he actually put in "Fistie Daggers Crime" after I gave him that nickname after his infamous post), because not everyone is capable of that. Bravo, Fistie!
