He sustained a concussion this year which we all know is a re-occuring injury
He now had surgery on his hip which for a skater isn't so bad, but for a goalie that could be a real real problem for him going forward.
Not looking to overstate the injury, but it has to be concerning that the 2 injuries he's suffered are ones that could potentially hamper his career.
Concerned? Well, yeah, somewhat. But the guy played through it, and not only that he played well. He won't be out past the summer, and if he could play that well through it, it's hard to see it as something that concerning.
We know the kid's a battler, that's good news. If injuries take him out early, well, that's the way of things, but we know he'll fight to the end and that's what really matters in a player.
Well Lundy had hip problems last year, and I believe it required surgery in the offseason as well. He has turned out fine. I am sure DP will be ok. To be honest I hope he is, because Lundqvist v.s. DiPietro should be a awesome goaltending matchup for the next ten years.
for being hurt he was better the last 2 months than he was in during the first couple months. ill gladly take him for the next 14 years
I would gladly take him for the next ten... 14 is way too much... I have little faith in 40 year old goalies not named Hasek... and even he got hurt too much last year. Sens could have won it with him in net...
haha, true. With the way medicine is now and all the doctors and trainers professional teams have, there is a good chance these goalies can play till their late thirties. There is already a number of them, Hasek, Belfour, Cujo, even Broduer is getting up there in age.
