He does seem to have a history of not winning when it counts.

(much like Buffalo in general)

The Sabres played about as well as you can being down 4+ defensive starters as well as missing an on-fire Tim Connolly. Given that, I think Ruff did a great job coaching with what he had.

And how many games did the Rangers win in the playoffs last year?

Want to compare playoff records since Lindy was hired in 1997?

Didn't think so...

The topic is Linday Ruff's comments regarding officiating. Get on it.

Lindsay Ruff Playoff appearances = 5
Lindsay Ruff Stanley Cups = 0

There you have it. Captain Clutch.

He can complain all he wants (and he FREQUENTLY does) about the officiating but what has it gotten him? I just think it makes him look like a baby.

I love how you could possibly think that losing in the first round is the same as losing in the third or fourth round. Fact is, Lindy is a seasoned, playoff savvy head coach who knows how things work. Can you possibly think that he's telling his team behind closed doors that you guys played great and the refs screwed us?

No friggin' way. He's telling them that they need to skate and use their speed to win this series. He's working the media to try to give his players a better chance to use their speed. Call it whatever you want.

BTW - Here's Renney's coaching record:

Season Team Lge Type GP W L T OTL Pct Result

1996-97 Vancouver Canucks NHL Head Coach 82 35 40 7 0 0.470 Out of Playoffs
2003-04 New York Rangers NHL Head Coach‡ 20 5 15 0 0 0.250 Out of Playoffs
2005-06 New York Rangers NHL Head Coach 82 44 26 0 12 0.610 Lost in round 1
2006-07 New York Rangers NHL Head Coach 82 42 30 0 10 0.573

no, because it is obvious that we are playing great, and the refs are screwing us.

You guys got unscrewed on Tuesday. I understand that the video replay was inconclusive (that's a whole other argument) but the call was inconsistent with other calls that I've seen this playoffs.

well it was consistent with the rules. and really, after seeing the evidence on the thread below, i think it was a no goal.

and we got screwed with the pomenville goal, and the karel no goal. imo, either they were both goals or non goals.

I think you guys got screwed on the puck off the skate goal in game 3, but I still think the Pominville call was right.

I think this worked for Ruff in years passed but this little song and dance of his is pretty obvious. He just looks like sore loser complainer all the time. If anything this should have a negative effect on the sabres.

Could you imagine if Lindy Ruff was constantly complaining and telling you how to do your job I know the last thing I would do is bend into his mold.

I think you guys got jobbed in the puck off the skate in game 3. I think in terms of controversial calls goals that would have made us even...because there would have been 1 less.

well all i know is it looked more like a punching motion than a kicking motion. so consistency, like i have said, has killed me this series.

Disagree. He's a whining little baby. That doesn't reflect well on your team or your fan base.

PS: He (she?) Hasn't won squat yet.

These comments are scaring the hell out of me right now. I really think (know actually) that the refs will now call the game tight against the Rangers because of this nonsense.

Renney isn't a complete loser.

Won 2 consecutive titles in the WHL and Memorial Cup with the Kamloops Blazers.

Won Silver in 1994 with Team Canada

Won Gold at 2004 World Championships.

Renney has coached 3 full seasons and made the playoffs in 2...not too shabby

Like him or not, he's among two or three guys that are generally considered the best in the game ... he envisioned and defined post lock out hockey ... and he's winning with home grown, drafted, developed, and 'coached' talent ..

Why don't we try to buy him?
