If that's the case, I'm starting my own radio show about basketball. I don't know dick about basketball, but if it's OK to respond with "It doesn't matter" to a subject I know nothing about, I will fine. Just like those clowns...

You know those two don't even go to the games at MSG?!!!!

They just don't care about hockey. They are literally forced to talk NHL during the playoffs IF one of the locals make it in. And Thats it.

They do both GUSH over Lou Lams though. Maybe rightfully so.....but still.

For what it's worth there are a couple guys on WFAN who love hockey and give it plenty of time after big games. They are just not M&MDOG

Steve Sommers WILL ALWAYS BE A HUGE PART OF MY '94 experience.

That guy is a pisser

I said it takes a lot more than 10 minutes to win a hockey game.

He said we could be down 3-1, and I said we could be up 3-1, because we could have had game 2.

I brought up how when we play a tight "trap" type game that we distrupt their speed, and it messes up their game.

I then brought up how when Joe was on, that the stat of how we had only 2 less points than them over the last few months was relevant, because this Ranger team is a totally different team than the one they faced in the fall and early winter!

F them!! Go Rangers!!

Don't let these two guys bother you. I know they're 'it' as far as NY radio is concerned, but both have admitted that they dislike and know nothing about hockey.

What really bothers them is that hockey talk is taking time away from their baseball and horse racing talk. So their anger is really toward the sport in general, not necessarily the Rangers.

I only listen cuz there's nothing else... I equally cannot stand Stephen A. Smith on ESPN are his pro-Iverson, everything is an issue with race talk, so my options are limited

When I listen to WFAN I listen from 10 - 1 then I turn it off. Then I may listen again if I know Steve Somers is on, otherwise I never listen to WFAN. I prefer my music to Mike and the Mad Dog

I'm in Toronto. Theres two hockey radio talk shows on at noon. Leafs Lunch (12-2, 640toronto.com) and HockeyCentral (12-1, fan590.com). Usually I listen to Leafs Lunch for 2 hours and catch the HockeyCentral podcast if they post it. Or I switch back and forth between the two. They usually have Maloney or Rosen on during a game day.

I have listened to both before and I will admit, pretty decent shows... I need to get speakers on my computer at work though to stream them

Just think of listening next week when the Rangers advance to the conferencre finals. The two arrogant sob's will eat some humble pie. However, the best way to get even is stop listening to them. Watch their ratings go down. LISTEN to Michael Kay and Don LaGreca. At least Don knows the game and has some good insights.

This is just a classic example of people who try to talk hockey but dont watch the games all year so they have nothing to base their arguments on except for the last big game they watched (or half of it in their case)

when you watch the show on YES and theyre talking hockey for all of 14 seconds, they open the paper, Mike is staring at the standings and mumbles 3 or 4 points he sees, and then Russo goes back to the Giants and Barry Bonds

Dellapina agrees:

Quote:
Yeah, the final 10 minutes were hairy. But what playoff third period isn't for a team protecting a one-goal lead? That, after all, is what the Rangers were doing for all but 33 seconds of that third period. And when you realize that the Sabres only had six shots on goal after Ales Kotalik made it 2-1 with 10:56 remaining, you've got to say they did a pretty fair job of minimizing the damage -- especially when Buffalo's best chance came via a Henrik Lundqvist brain cramp that had nothing to do with withering pressure by the opponent or the Rangers sitting back.
