Just going to take the all time team from 1990 on. Funny, nobody really gave damn about the Pens until then anyway...except for the real diehards. (the tip of the cap to you)

Here goes:

Sid-Mario-Jagr (3 guys that can make everyone on the ice look better and the only competition for the NHL scoring title would be each other)

Stevens-Francis-Recchi (Franchise would quietly have about 120 assists a season playing between these guys who would spend the whole game up the goalie's ass.)

Straka-Lang-Kovy (Hard to believe that this actually was a line for us at one time...the SECOND LINE!!!)

Cool Hand Luc-Trotts-Mullen (Trotts was a big reason that we won two Cups and Mullen may be the most underappreciated 500 goal scorer in the history of hockey...Luc the best LW ever, even in the 10 minutes that he played for the Pens)

Oops...forgot the rest of the team. My fault.

Zubov-Coffey (Not a bad pair of shots from the blue line and they both do well on the PP)

Murphy-Ulf (Murphy is quietly one of the greatest defenseman in history, he is always in the right place at the right time...Ulf is just there to beat the hell out of Cam Neely from the all-time Bruins team.)

Whitney-Gonchar (I surprised myself with this one but I think it's true. Sarge is definetely a premium player and Whitney is getting there.)

Barrasso (Jerk, but who cares? He won the second Cup for us.)

MAF (If his potential that we hear about so much is what we all hope it is then he could be a maniac very soon.)

Good, ole' Baz ... God rest his soul.

Adding Schutt to this list is along the lines of claimimg Greg Millen as the Pen's best goalie -- ever! It just ain't so.

PeNS

Recchi - Lemieux - Kehoe
Stevens - Crosby - Mullen
Straka - Malkin - Jagr
Pronovost - Francis - Kovalev
(Trottier - Tocchet)

Coffey - Samuelsson
Murphy - Carlyle
Gonchar - Burrows
(Stackhouse-Whitney)

Barrasso
Binkley
Fleury

I tried to get some grit in there as much as possible, but having so much talent at your disposal is too tempting. Some picks of mine were based on that favorite word, potential.

New to the board, I love it.

Mario Lemiuex - Sidney Crosby - Jaromir Jagr
Kevin Stevens - Ron Francis - Jean Pronovost
Gary Roberts - John Cullen - Bryan Trottier
Joey Mullen - Rick Kehoe - Lowell MacDonald

Paul Coffey - Larry Murphy
Phil Bourque - Ron Stackhouse
Ulf Samuelsson - Sergei Gonchar
(Dave Schultz - Brian Spencer*)

Tom Barrasso (as if there was any doubt)
Ken Wregget

*What I like to call the Hairy-Scary defensive pairing.

This is a tough assignment... how do you weigh historical significance? Accomplishments? Personal feelings. Hard stuff.
