I'll take Minnesota...

And I think we should keep the real draft order...like if it was the real thing. We should wait a couple of days so everyone will be ready for the draft. Also, if there's some compasentory pick, we should add them. Waiting a bit longer before doing our draft would be good.

On tsn.ca they say this:

Florida Panthers traded Todd Bertuzzi to the Detroit Red Wings for Shawn Matthias, a conditional draft selection in 2007 and a conditional 2nd round selection in 2008.

You might be right.

Anyone would know better about the trade?

Nothing wrong with doing one now. We can always do another one later in the summer. Like early to mid june just before the real one.

Yeah that's true...

In that case, we should wait til the end of the actual rounds so we will knoe the bottom four teams. We could use the season standing to know who will have the last 4 picks.

And BTW, Minnesota will have the 42nd pick in the second round because they will not re-sign A.J Thelen...

and guys. I put Rangers 17th overall because I noticed it was like that on a few mock drafts on the mock draft board.

But shouldn't they be in the 20's?

I say no trades. They are annoying.

I call no trades too. Atleast no players involve. Just picks trades would not be too bad I guess. Kinda like the Habs did last year.

like Tricolore#20 suggested, I put the 2nd round order by regular season point standings.

Is that fine with you guys? Or should we include the trades as well? (some teams probably have other teams 2nd round picks)

Well if we don't count the traded picks, everybody would have a chance to draft twice...if not, some will have only one pick while some will have 3+ pick to make...

yeah, guess we can just leave the second round like it is on the original post.

With the first round is over, and with the 2nd round almost done we have a good idea the draft order up to about pick 23. Losers 1-8 (of the first round) get put in order by points unless the team is a division winner.

1-14 is correct:

1.Chicago
2.Philadelphia
3.Phoenix
4.LA
5.Washington
6.Edmonton
7.Columbus
8.Boston
9.St.Louis
10.Florida
11.Carolina
12.Montreal
13.Toronto
14.Colorado

We can now order 15-22 as well:

15. Edmonton (from Islanders)
16. Anaheim (from Tampa)
17. Calgary
18. Minnesota
19. Pittsburgh
20. Phoenix (from Dallas)
21. St. Louis (from Atlanta - division winner)
22. Philadelphia (from Nashville - division winner)

After the 2nd round we'll know 23-26

23. New York Rangers
24. Montreal (from San Jose) - if S.J. loses to Det.
25. Vancouver (division winner)
26. St. Louis (from NJ/SJ - N.J. is a division winner)

That'll leave the four finalists who could be arranged in order by points.
26.Florida (from Detroit)
27.Ottawa
29.Edmonton (from Anaheim)
30.Washington (from Buffalo)

12 spots left guys.

And like I said, please be an active enough poster if you want to join the draft.

It's really annoying when a mock draft is slowed down by a couple of posters who take forever to make their picks.

So everyone will have a pick in the second round? That would be cool. it would suck to only have one pick to make...

Huh, no that's not it. Only the final four slots in the first round changed based on who makes the final four.

So for picks 1-26 it goes by the old rules...

added rules to the main post.

11 spots left guys. I'll be gone tonight and tomorrow morning so if you want to join just say what team you'd like, and I'll update tomorrow.

Not sure when we'll start yet, hopefully not long after we get everyone on board.
