I'm going to get booed off HFBoards when I make my pick, let alone make an opening statement

You can already hear the fans in the upper bowl:

"**** you Leafs! **** you Leafs! **** you Leafs!"

seriously, c'mon Chicago. Not a good start to the draft

He's got 24 hours though. Do you guys feel that's too long? That's what they use on almost all draft's on the mock draft board.

lol, for 7 rounds we'd need 30 of the most active posters on this board.

24 hours does seem long, but given that we all live in different time-zones and are able to access this site at different times during our days, it's probably for the best. I think it will start to move quickly once it gets started, so while it may take a little bit of time right now, it'll get better.

Why not make it 12 hours...or 18...it would go faster. If we wait 24 hours for someone to make his pick and he's not even making it, it's a full day lost...

I just said 24 hours so people won't complain if they miss their pick.

Honestly, we should get ATLEAST 5 or 6 picks done each day. Probably even more.

The Chicago Blackhawks select, from the London Knights, RW Patrick Kane.

"We chose Patrick because we thought that he fit the profile of the player we needed, a small but steady and complete forward with good offensive ability, who could complement Jonathan Toews in the future."

Pick trade are possible or not?

I would like to move my 1st pick for a pick a bit later like 5-6 and a late first rounder.

Oops just read the rules.

I gotta say, I think trades should be allowed, AS LONG as they are straight up pick for pick trades (don't get into the "would they take on that contract, what's that do to their cap position", etc.).

Well, personnaly, the mock draft being a game to test hockey knowledge among fans, I think we should stick to the draft order, and no trade should be allowed, simply cause it would get too messy.

And we're doing a 2 rounds mock, so even if we were trading 3rd, 4th etc. round picks, what would be the use ? We could not use them anyway...

Stick to the base... best way to make a mock.

If we do use those rules...whats the point then? I mean, I see why you don't want to start trading roster players, but if we trade only picks...there will probably be 3 or 4 teams only who CAN trade cause most of us have either only 1 pick in every round, or only 1 in the first two.

There will be very little trades and it will be really boring for those who have no way to trade cause the real GM traded picks.

There will be a mock draft during stanley cup final or after so maybe then we can make trade and stuff but for this one its better keep it simple IMO. Maybe in the other one there will be 3-4-5 rounds we'll see...

Anyway next is: Marc the Habs Fan
Then: ME!

With the 2nd pick in the 2007 NHL entry draft, the Philadelphia Flyers are proud to select, from the Barnaby Express of the BCHL, Kyle Turris!

''We really like Kyle because he's a talented kid who has shown an ability to completely take over games offensively while still be a good 2-way player. We will let him properly develop at Wisconsin as he needs to add some weight to his thin frame.''

hey if you don't mind writing a little quote it'd be cool because i'd like to add it to your pick.

You don't have to though.

How is it that when I was in grade seven I got teased incessantly for playing dungeons and dragons (an Eleven year old kid with a creative imagination and an inclination for dice)? And yet, a bunch of adults (I would assume) can do this and there is not one snippet of ridicule…I got ripped off!

*I’m obviously kidding guys…check my post record…I don’t tease much.
