Eric's Optimistic About His Return

http://www.nypost.com/sports/rangers/16483.htm

Asked what he perceives as a best-case scenario for a return, Lindros said, "If all goes well, if there are no setbacks along the way, we could be talking about the end of next week.

Why would he even rush a comeback at this stage when we are so far out of it?

If Lindros is cleared to play prior to the March 9 trade deadline by Dr. Johnston, a Cup contender seeking depth down the middle - can anyone spell, Detroit? - might have interest in making a conditional deal for him.

Why would anyone take a risk on him at this point in his career after another concussion?

Let him come back and trade him to Toronto, STL, or Detroit.

If we can get something for him, I'm all for it...I just don't see how any GM would give anything up for him...he's one step closer to being a vegetable than he's ever been.

I think you can get something conditionally from a team like Toronto. If he never plays again, then his new team just pays his salary from March 9th on. If he plays 5 games, we get a 5th. 10 games, we get a 4th. 1 Playoff round, a 3rd. 2 playoff rounds, a 2nd. Sounds ridiculous, but only some kind of conditional agreement moves a high risk player like this.

The Wings will take him if he shows he is healthy. Would be a gret fit and Yzerman has said Lindros would fit in perfectly in the Wings system. Put him between Shanahan and Thomas and they will be able to play against any line.

Sounds good to me. How about another Wings/Flyers Final, this time with E Train wearing the wheel-and-wing?

Wing fans are hoping for a Toronto/Detroit final. Four hour trip, passion on both sides, maybe we can get Ted Lindsay in a shootout with Johnny Bower too.
