Elias/Rangers?

Does anyone what the Rangers might have been offering Patrik Elias last summer? I never saw any numbers, so I've been curious about this for a while.

Thanks.

i believe it was more money, but no "no movement" clause.

Rangers offered Patrik Elias - 6 years $42 million. Devils responded with including a no-movement clause to seal the deal.

While Patrik Elias is a tremendous player, I was somewhat happy we didn't get him last summer. I think every team needs a solid mix of North American, and European talent, and I think we have enough players like Elias already. Shanahan was the perfect fit for this year, letting Jagr be Jagr, providing toughness, scoring goals, and giving our young players a lot of advice. In hindsight, it is especially nice not to be tied to that contract, seeing as it is uncertain whether he will get back to his pre-lockout days.

Yea that is a long contract but in the grand scheme of things Elias > Shanny as far as building a team.

He had an off year, obviously because he has deep second thoughts about NOT signing with the Rangers,

but he will be back to his elite form.

I looked it up on Blueshirt bulletin, so the story is the Devils offered 1 more year and the no movement clause.

I won't shed any tears ovewr not signing him. We already wasted alot of cash on an ex devil, and it didn't work out too well. Alot of those guys are meant for that system, I wouldn't want any of em to tell you the truth.

The Devils offered one year more and $1 million less in annual salary plus a no movement clause

Elias would have been another Broadway disaster

Sather had a hard on for Elias when he was a Devil minor leaguer playing in Albany

That hepatitis illness is a scary thing
