Cammy is an RFA cause he's only 24 and I doubt the Kings let him go any time soon. Though, what JR wants, JR usually gets.

US down 5-2 now. How's Cam looking? I'm only following the other thread and it seems he's made some big saves.

Ward is playing fine, kicked out a big rebound on the first goal, but beyond that he's made some good stops, including a breakaway by larose. The announcers are fairly certain that Roloson will be the starter for the elimination rounds though.

On another note for you canes fans, Cole left the game with an apparent knee injury, was helped off the ice and looked to be in a lot of pain. No word on the injury yet though.

Jebus, our injury totals for next year decide to go and start early I guess. Hopefully it's just minor but hopefully he's also out for the rest of the tournament to play it safe.

As for Roloson starting the elimination round games.... from the sounds of how people have been talking about his play that would be a mistake.

Someone who saw it said that Cole couldn't put any weight on his left leg. Tough injury to take, especially in a meaningless tournament.

I predict that the N&O will finally get around to covering the WC tomorrow.

The only other article so far was a typical emo DeCock piece crying about Jack Johnson, but this is too good to pass up. An injury that we do not know the severity of? OUT FOR THE SEASON!

Anyways, Eric Staal now has 6 points in 6 games (3+3). Jordan has 0.

Williams only has 2 points (1+1) and a bunch of minor penalties.

Word out of Moscow is that Cole is alright and should be able to play in the next game Vs. Finland.

Great news. Thanks.

EDIT: DeCock confirms this at the N&O blog.

Quote:
Cole collided awkwardly with St. Louis Blues forward Jamal Mayers and had to be helped off the ice, but a USA Hockey spokesman said Cole was OK and expected to play Thursday against Finland in the quarterfinals.
The headline is "Cole hurt at World Championships in U.S. loss".

U.S lost 5-4 in a shootout and is eliminated. Grahame didn't allow a goal until the fifth Finland shooter (Lehtinen), but none of the U.S shooters scored.

Hutchinson scored late in the third period on the powerplay to tie it up 4-4 and LaRose had an assist on the first goal.

Canada won 5-1 against Switzerland. Eric Staal with two assists, Jordan still pointless in the WC.

Canada's up 3-0 after the first against Sweden in the semi-finals. Williams got the first goal on a tip in off a shot by Cammalleri on the powerplay. Shortly after Jordan Staal made a great pass to Toews out front and he managed to score a beauty even with a defender all over him. Towards the end of the third Cammalleri made a HUGE stretch pass to Eric Staal and he skated in on Backlund, pulled it to his backhand, back to his forehand and then tucked it in five hole. 20 seconds left in the first Ward did well to see through the screen and make a great glove save. 6 seconds left in the period Commodore takes a stupid cross checking penalty.

Ward's been great for team Canada, he won the player of the game award today. Staal had a very nice goal today. I can't believe that Andy Murray is even considering starting Roloson for the gold medal game, as Ward is his superior in every single aspect of the position. This is coming from a Thrashers fan who usually doesnt like to compliment another southeast team's players.

After his play today I really think Ward should play in the final but Murray has a reputation for being very superstitious and not wanting to change anything when it's working so it's quite possible he sticks to his rotation.
