Habs Hockey Cards and other collectibles

who got the upper end, hockey cards trade. high end cards.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I traded Phil Kessel SPA Limited Patch 3 color(*), Benoit Pouliot RC SPA(*), Lundqvist RC SPx (80$BV), and Grabovski HP(#) FOR Paul Stastny RC SPA(*), Phil Kessel RC SPA(*), Lundqvist RC SPA(150$BV), Anze Kopitar RC UD (40$BV) and Zach Parise RC UD (15$BV)

who got the upper end in your opinion.

some points to mention, we estimated the value of Kessel Patch at 250$, the value of Stastny SPA at 100$, the Value of Kessel SPA 80$ and Pouliot RC at 40$.

* = not listed yet in beckett.
# = common card.

I know i surrender the highest value card no doubt and with the highest potential, but also i know its not an official rookie.. as its is a parrarel, a freaking hot parralel but still.. I am covering my *** with official spa Kessel RC and superstar goalie in Lundqvist and Stastny wich is value is skyrocketing.

waiting for your comments.

I'd be amazed if you could sell a Lundqvist rookie card for $150.
Beckett is full of crap.

In my opinion you both lose for thinking the cards are worth anything. The cards are only worth something to the owners. They have very little actual value.

If you think you won, then you won. But if you're questioning the trade you probably doubt that and wish you hadn't traded in the first place.

actually i know that, i know beckett put whatever price they want to put.. and its all about money, cuz to be honest those cards have very little value.. unless you just like to collect those cards and have the type of cards you like..I do have my type, and i did spend in the past and recently quite an amount on cards.. but evolution comes with adjustements.. i am still doing so , I started buying cheap packs, then started buying more expensive packs, then start buying ok boxes.. then started buying boxes at a better price.. then started buying expensive boxes.. then starting buyiing cards I LIKE.. now trading the cards i have.. to what i like.. and i guess one day i will own a store so i can buy the cards even cheaper, then i buy on ebay and then i sell all, and start from scratch or everything goes bad i start stealing cards... lollll

seriously you are right on value, but i already have those cards.. and BV is there in terms of comparaison... still I think those cards are nice to keep long term.. they are signde on the card.. even if still wouldnt worth as much.. i could surely tell you a Gretzky rc signed numbered would have a way bigger value and would still be a very nice memorabilia to have.. and showoff. as an hobby. purchasing is crap.. you buy boxes for 1 card you like.. and got nothing out of it..

here are my best cards : with infamous Beckett value.

S.Crosby RC UD 350$ (2)
A.Ovechkin RC BD 100$
A.Ovechkin RC UD 100$ (2)
H.Lundqvist RC SPA Autogragh 150$ /999
A.Perezhogin RC SPA Patch, Autograph 150$ /100
P.Stastny RC SPA autograph 80$-100$* /999
P.Kessel RC SPA autograph 60$-80$* /999
.
C.Ward RC SPx autograph, Jersey 50$ /1499
A.Kopitar RC UD 40$
A.Kopitar RC UDArtifact 30$ (2) /599
P.Stastny RC UD 40$
P.Stastny RC UD artifact 30$ /599
H.Lundqvist RC UD Ice 30$ /1999
.
.
G.Latendresse RC UD 25$
A.Radulov RC UD 25$
P.Kessel RC UD 25$
P.Kessel RC UDArtifact 30$ /599
P.Bergeron RC UD 25$
T.Vanek RC UD 20$ (4)

and a bunch more... really, if someone is interested, i sell all my cards (-1 Crosby) for 2000$.. i have so much more rookies...

I can't add anything to this thread since I know nothing about cards, but I really laughed out loud at that comment.

IMO, if you can have that kind of money for those cards, sell them right away... every single card who had values 15 years ago, dont own a penny these day. I'm talking about Roy, Sakic, Niedermayer... and Pat Fallon Rookie dude !

geez guys we all see that nne of those ho respond are in the hobby....

There are resons why the 1990 cards are worth not even a dime....THERE WAS TO MUCH!

ayways, i collect and have a small shop

You lost as i said in the trade section because of that kessel 3col.

For what you are asking for your cards....you're crazy the only card who sells full BV (and even more...) is the Crosby cards....

Just to let you know i bought a huge lot of card yesterday (with couples o low end rookie of crosby like MVP/OPC) and including a Lafleur RC / Ken drydeb RC both auto
and a Gretzky rookie (non-graded) for a big 450$

I was better try, no? i wasnt going to offer my cards for 100$ at my first offer right? hehe.

anyway, the Kessel arent going high on ebay right now, i was thinking of getting one myself on ebay, instead of searching for multiple cards.. anyway, the kessel isnt an official rookie.. either way.. i do believe those cards will lower the price soon.. for some reason the reason i said they are not selling high.. other than marquee players.

Or they're worth something to people who would like to own them. I remember as a kid going to Baseball card shows and buying a Gregg Jefferies rookie card for $20 and then selling it five minutes later for $30. If there is a market out there, then these things have value.

Isn't that exactly what I said?

I just think that a lot of people collect with the intent to sell and collect the money, when in fact the price you could sell a card for is (with few exceptions) never the "listed value". I put that in quotations because I swear Beckett just makes those numbers up.

I've had cards that were approximately 50 years older and retained less value then some of those over inflated prices. Nobodies going to pay those outrageous costs when they can just buy the set for much cheaper.

Could be interested in those one...I have cash to burn. And Latendresse at that price is a bargain, he's gonna be the bomb and it will worth so much more in 15 years. I will be able to sale it again and buy a flying car, or a huge golden Latendresse statue to put in my mention...

...those upper deck don't seems to be special, and they are worth that much...try somewhere else dude...

That's how the market has become guys...

Yes it's overinflated... but that's not the dude's fault...

These cards are numbered to 999... Means there are only 999 Latendresse, only 999 Crosby, etc...

I bet more than 1000 card collectors want to possess these cards... Creates scarcity. Inflates the prices...
Just an unopened pack of 5-6 upperdeck cards is worth something like 10$ nowadays... Totally unaffordable for kids. The market has moved... Cards collectors nowadays are the 70's, 80's and 90's kids who just kept on collecting them.

I have a couple old hockey cards, and I never tought a card could be worth so much, it's like if you buy your pack 5$ and you can sell it card by card for 10$ it's strange.

I'll pick a random card, how much could be worth a: 1997, Upper Deck, of Mario Lemieux Saying he scored his 500th goal.
