As Raider and other Pens fans alluded to, this guy just isn't very trustworthy. I wouldn't care if he just tried to move the Pens outright - that was his priority to try and then fail. But the way he went about it was just idiotic to me. He came on with a big talk, going on about how he wanted to put money into the team and get free agents here, that he wouldn't move the team, etc. And then the truth was later revealed. But, enough of the past.

I hope for the die hards' sake that this hasn't actually gone through, and if it does, I really hope he doesn't move the team. My impression of Nashville is that there is a solid hockey market there to be tapped into, even if attendance has been down lately (??). I remember the atmosphere from playoff runs in year's past.

I'll be the first to apologize to Gnashville. I have to say, I actually believe Leipold.

There is always hope that the league will step in. Don't forget, they just did it in Pittsburgh when Ballsillie was trying to buy the Pens.

I really, really hope that you guys don't have to go through what we just went through. I remember all too well the way it feels to be afraid that your team is going to move. I think it's safe to say that Pens fans are pulling for you guys.

Its been improving every season since the lockout. We just got a new arena naming rights deal. The Predators were the talk of the town after the Forsberg trade, with the team enjoying probably an all time high in terms of discussion and excitement.

That's what I don't get. We finally seemed to be turning the corner, and now this?

He's vehemently and angrily denied any rumor that he would sell the team outright, that he'd allow the team to move, went on and on about how sick he was of the speculation, what a huge hockey fan he is, how this is as much a hobby as it is a business to him. All lies, apparently.

We appreciate the support. Myself and a lot of other Predators fans were upset at the rumors of the Penguins possibly leaving and were excited when you guys got your arena deal.

A close second.

Guess they will be happy now, they don't have to 'learn' hockey, they can fold on covering it altogether.

Sorry, I am depressed enough to need medication right now.

Yikes...

Well, in that case I don't blame you at all.

Poor guys. I empathize with you all. I know what its like to lose a team. But, I want another Canadian NHL team. Obviously, I'm hoping Winnipeg still has a chance (but naturally very unlikely).

I hope Sommet sues the pants off them and does everything they can to get off that Arena.

I'd be very suprised if the Sommet group didn't know about this before hand.

I'd bet money they didn't unless it was for a 1 year deal.

Wow Leipold is perhaps as low class as everything thinks. He uses Sommet to help in his bid to sell the team. With the team being sold, there was no chance a local company would step up to the plate. Not to mention Sommet gets screwed in the deal (assuming Basielle doesn't pay the rest of the deal).

I feel like someone died!!!! As a season ticket holder since day one I am completely numb. My kid was really upset when he heard the news. I am really confused with what has gone on tonight. Leipold has really kicked this city right in the stomach

Nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with Winnipeg wanting to see the Jets back.

There's EVERYTHING wrong with actually wanting the Preds to fail, and to taunt them while it's happening. It's taking place on HF as we speak in other places.

They did the same thing when the Pens' future was up in the air. It's pathetic.

Yep, I was there too. Not a Pens fan mind you, but I was indeed there. I remember.

Poor guys. I'm so sorry. But, I have to admit...I'd take whatever I could get to have a team back in Winnipeg. Even if it's the Preds.
