All we needed was scoring from the 2nd line, let alone the 3rd and 4th. People just don't want to place any blame on Avery or Shanahan that they move right on to the last lines.

Get a 2nd line center in here like Drury or Gomez and the 2nd line scores more...

ANd you have Prucha Cullen Callahan more of the season together, and they are putting up goals as well.

Zero chance Gomez would sign for NYR

ZERO

Why do people think Gomer would turn his back on NJD and sign here? Its not happening. He'll leave NJD but go to Montreal or Ottawa or some other team that he doesnt hate

If we sign Gomez, Drury or whoever, then people will say at 25 why is Immonen aint here, or Dubinsky. Why not build from within. And I mentioned Hartnell cause he is the same age as Hossa and a much better player. If u had to choose Hartnell or Hossa who would u take??? We also can use a bit more size with skill at the wings, other than Shanny we dont have much size.

Straka Nylander Jagr
Hartnell Immonen Shanny
Avery Cullen Callahan
Hollweg Betts Orts

I find it pretty ironic that the guy who throws about 15 trade/UFA proposals a week on this board can preach the values of building from within.

.

I like Dainius, but he seems like a played that really needs to feed off better players.

His decline in production when traded to Buffalo was really significant in that he's just not a guy that is really going to create for his teammates and that was exposed on Buffalo.

Big frame, decent hands, smart defenisvely but offensively flawed.

Plus we already have our 3rd line center in Cullen.

Why not NY ... or anywhere that has the right combo of money and chance to win? And when did he say he hates the Rangers? And how is he turning his back on NJ? It's a business .... he was made keenly aware of that when things went to arbitration.

Disagree with the notion of never for Gomez... The right amount of money would certainly have him thinking a bit different.

Secondly, i do think someone like Avery going out of nowhere to bring up his name would help a bit.

What sort of raise is this dude due?

Would be bite at our 4th line?

He's listed as Center AND RW

We NEED some finish from the 3rd 4th lines. Is this possible?
Forget it, He wants to stay in Buffalo and Ruff and Regier want him as well as Drury and Briere, They all want to stay in Buffalo.

Which is why Buffalo wants to keep him, We have enough offense all we need are a couple more hard hitting players, Grinders as Buffalo can take it to the next level. BYW, The Rangers aren't too shabby, They played great against Buffalo but I really don't think any team really saw the real Sabres in the playoffs, I can't figure out what the hell happened to them in the playoffs.

The Zubrus that the Rangers saw, is not the Zubrus who played against Ottawa. Whereas against the Rangers he was fantastic, against Ottawa, he could not be found. He certainly banged Jagr enough times, but his physical game disappeared against Ottawa.
And that has been his biggest issue his entire career. He is just not consistent. Pass on Zubrus.

He was playing with a knee injury vs Ottawa. Which led to him getting 5 minutes of IT in game 4 and being a scratch for game 5.
