How Bout Bert

Id take him here in atlanta.

Bertuzzi-F/A-Kovy
Hossa-Belange-Kozlov
Sterling-Holik-Dupuis
Viger-Slater-Larsen

Havlid-Z
Exlby-Popovic
Enstrom-Nhigty(sp?)

Kar
Moose

Most people agrre that Bert wont be able to command his 5 million this season because of injuries and such so if we could get him for a year at a lower rate we could put him with Kovy. Its a win win situation really. We get a top line power forward who if he is healthy creates room for Kovy and can put up 70 pts. He plays with Kovy so that will inflate his stats and the next year he can go after some big money that some GM will overpay him because he got alot of goal shoving in kovy rebounds and dishing him the puck. Also, thats a pretty good group of forwards, and if we sign Bert to a contract of about 1.5 or 2 mil he might loose that spot to Sterling. Either way first or third line thats 2 great offensive line a 3rd line that can score and play defense and a decent 4th line. but im sure we have a few guys in the system who could make it better. Now all we would need is a defense.

I've tried that on a test planty of times (True/Falls) questions, and I did not fail, maybe u should've studied harder
I would not take him because I don't think he's been the same player since the Moore thing. He hardly resembles a powerforward now. Better?

If Bert would sign for 3 million or less I would take him anyday. Bert can still get 30 goals 40 assists and many forget he was on pace for an 80 + point season this year with Florida untill he had surgery.

Thats true, which is why he would only get 2mil max. Also, if u actually look at his stats over his career his only seasons where he averaged more than a pt per game were when him naslun and morrison were all three clicking and each were putting up around 100 pts. before then he was a 50 or 60 pts a season guy. in the year before the moorw insident he averaged .81 pts a game. last year in his 15 games he averaged .71 pts a game. which is not bad when u missed the first 66 games due to a back injury. John Leclair came back from a back injury to have a few good season left in him too. All i would hope from Bert is to clear the way for Kovy and knock in rebounds.

You base that on a 7 game sample (I think he only played 7 games before he got injured)?

My response: "No."

This isn't a test.

Bert really hasn't had a down year since 1999 and he played well in the playoffs for Detroit. There is a good chance Kozlov will leave via FA this summer and that means that we will be a 2 man team. Adding a player like Bert to the Thrashers would be a major upgrade over what we have now.

You could do a lot worse then Todd Bertuzzi for 3 million a year, but if he would sign for that remains to be seen.

Bertuzzi=no.

Nothing like a power forward that's too afraid to play power forward anymore.

Atlanta's gonna give the kids every chance to make a team. Besides, Atlanta needs a center more than they need a winger.

NO!

The guy is a locker room cancer. We're one of the few teams who doesnt have to put up with players like that, and I dont suddenly want it to happen.

I agree...no. Sterling will end up on a wing and if Kozy doesn't resign, I'll worry about the other top 4 wing then.

I don't like Bertuzzi.

Personal feelings aside, I don't think adding a power forward will help this team in the way it needs to be helped. The franchise needs to look for legitimate, play-making centers to go with their two world-class wingers. Bringing in a power forward to play with Kovy will be as much of a non-factor as Tkachuk was.

With Bertuzzi, but an overall more skilled team: Canucks fail to make the playoffs.

Without Bertzzi, and an overall less skilled team: Canucks make the playoffs.

Not to mention the countless quotes that can be found with players saying he was the center of many problems.

On second thought, I don't want Bert. But we should consider getting Ernie or Snuffaluffagus.

You really think that has nothing to do with Luongo and everything with Bertuzzi? Really?

Bertuzzi plays at half speed about eighty percent of the time. The guy's a slug who milks his two stand-out seasons to keep raking in a big paycheck.

Bertuzzi is an excellent player, but i just dont see his style fitting in the thrashers game plan. you guys need more speed and skill rather than grit. you guys have grit in Holik, Exelby, and many others.

You guys should be targeting Gomez. Hes got speed, and could make a very good combo w/ Kovalchuk.

Bertuzzi is not really a powerforward anymore. But he is a great playmaker who unfortunatly plays bad defence. Pair him up wth Kovy and a Defenseminded Crease crashing Center and you should have a great line i theory.
