Itech FX-50

So I was just cruising through Value Village (thrift store in Canada) and saw this cage / visor combo for $4 dollars. I picked it up, there were a few scratches on it but it didn't look too bad.

Anyone have this (or other visors) and want to provide me some tips? I have been using the Itech cage with the black exterior and white interior up until now.

I used one for a while but went back to a cage.
During the winter the visor was fine, but in the summer it would fog up considerably. The other thing I didn't like was the lack of air flow.
IMHO the cage is just easier to deal with day by day.

Air flow isn't too big a deal with the combos as compared to full visor. Got a nice deal, and if the scratches are bothering you, they do sell replacement visors for it. Just snap them in.

If it does fog, smear some shampoo in it, let it dry and bit and buff it off with a non abrasive cloth.

I saw some of the replacement visors at a local shop. I picked up a pair of those, but I am going to give the one a go first. I wouldn't have thought to put shampoo on the visor i'll give that a try.

Thanks

Actually the shield in the FX50 already has an antifog coating. All you need is to wipe it down with a damp soft cloth.
If you start using shampoo or any other anti fog product you'll remove the anti fog coating, you'll have to keep treating the visor and it will fog up faster.
Based on personal experience.

Ok, i'll keep that in mind when I switch to the new shields I bought.

For the one that came with it, I already sprayed it with a glasses cleaner, so that probably took off any of the coating.

Oops...I shoulda mentioned that there's a 'deluxe' version that has the the coatings and the normal plain ole' visor. I think lotta Itech visors do that.

I played with one for a few years. In the end, the fogging got too irritating. I wear a titanium cage now and love it.
