So then the Predators lost Darzins, Hanuljak, and Lassila?

According to the Tennessean, we did lose their rights.

Not surprised about either Darzins or Hanuljak, but it is a blow to the depth of our goaltending that we are losing Lassila.

I have a feeling that he will be spending a couple of years playing in Europe before considering whether or not to even make an attempt at crossing over.

Vokoun
Mason
Rinne
Dekanich
Sidikov

We're pretty deep at goal, or so it would seem to me, even without Lassila.

The defensive signings tell me that either Zidlicky or Timonen is gone, maybe both. Zanon is probably out the door now as well, but it's harder to tell with him.

Now at forward, we could use a little help...

Lassila is not a big loss at this point. He has had a couple down years after seemingly being a great prospect early on. I think Dekanich is a better prospect in management's eyes, and with Rinne already playing so well in Milwuakee, I am fine with the situation.

Someone mentioned that those forwards fall under pre-lockout draft rules, so I believe we still hold their rights........? Anyone know?

Now don't get me wrong, but...
Vokoun is No. 1 in Nashville, Mason will be gone after this season if not before then, Rinne should be ready to backup Vokoun by as early as training camp, Dekanich is still in college for another year and will probably need some seasoning in the AHL before he is NHL ready, and I really don't consider Sidikov a promising prospect.

Lassila might have had a few down years and has certainly been passed by Rinne and Dekanich since he was drafted, but I wouldn't be surprised to see another goalie drafted this summer to bolster our depth a little further.
