this guy is only 25, can fight very well and can play. A younger Shanny in the making, Sather better not mess up to sign some 30 year old vet. Come on Sather sign this guy on July 1.

Didn't we all say the same things about Adam Hall?

Hall never scored 25 goals in a season. Hartnell is a first round pick, has more grit, skill and scoring. He is only 25. who would u rather have Hossa who cant score 15 in a season, or Hartnell who is a power forward we can use.

Straka Nylander Jagr
Hartnell Avery Shanny
Prucha Cullen Callahan
Hossa Betts Byers/Korpikoski

not a very good second line..good 3rd line....but that being said, avery is best used in the 3rd line role....not a scoring line

i understand that, but Hartnell is a big guy who can make room for Avery, Shanny if brought back would help too. Hartnell is a guy we can use, other than Shanny we dont have a big power forward. Hartnell is only 25 and will be in his prime.

You are aware that Hartnell's best season is only a few points better than Shanahans worst season. And in that season Shanny played around 45 games.

So no, he is not a Shanahan in the making.

1. How well does he play center? (not at all)
2. Are you aware of the price difference between Hossa and Hartnell?
3. Does this Hartnell thread mean you're going to stop mentioning him in every other thread?

Hartnell is definately a much better player than Hall was. Better hands, better skater, and a much better scrapper also. I wouldn't mind seeing him here, but IMO the club needs to make room for either Dawes and or Dubinsky. If Hartnell was to come here, my fear would be that window of opportunity for any Hartford players would shut.

A younger Shanny in the making?? Shanny was a two time 50 goal scorer when he was 25.

I like Hartnell, but he's not anywhere close to a Shanahan.

I know I meant same type of player, big, can score and fight. I was not comparing them.

.

Can we please etop using Avery as a center?

I know that he can play the position, but it's not the ideal use for him.

He's a 2nd/3rd line winger that can put up some points and play a sandpaper type game. As a 2nd line centerman he's taken out of his elemenst as he now has to think the game to much. Let's not put to much responsibility on him and allow him to play his natural position of wing.

We need to resign Nylander and get a legit 2nd line guy.

Then use Avery on the 2nd/3rd line throughout the season, we will all be thankful for the end result.

It just doesn't fit. Avery is not at his best at center and it would hurt the line overall.

The only real room for a player is at center. Outside of trade anyway.

It's not enough that he mentions it in every thread, he then pastes exactly the same comments he has been making for weeks into a thread...

No, I was answering Rick. People speculated Adam Hall would be a top six power forward, but Hartnell has proven his abilities.

I'm on-board with Hartnell, so long as Shanny isn't re-signed - I'm not sold on Avery as 2nd C and would rather pay good money to a true C.
