Most likely candidates for Flames

The following players are pobably the most likely players that Sutter would be interested in. They are inexpensive and won't cost alot to get. Also most of them aren't rental players which Sutter said he won't go out and get.

Shanw Bates
Bates Battaglia
Jon Cheechoo
Dan Cleary
Marius Czerkawski
Pascal Duipis
Mike Eastwood
Scott Gomez
Chad Kilger
Jason Krog
Trevor Letowski
Grant Marshall
Eric Messier
Randy Robitaille
Pavel Rosa
Erik Rasmussen
Mike Rupp
Mike Sillinger
Shaun Van Allen

Barring unseen disaster, I really don't see us making any moves at all. Here are the guys I would like to have from your list:

Jon Cheechoo
Pascal Duipis
Scott Gomez
Randy Robitaille
Pavel Rosa

Gomez is probably the one guy we have no chance of getting

I think you could add Cheechoo to that category as well.

Quite Possibly one of the worst lists I have ever laid eyes on.

Cleary: We have one, his name is Josh Green.
Krog: Why would Anahiem dump one of their good forward prospects?
Kilger: Was on Waivers earlier this year.
Rassmussen: Was a UFA.

The other half of the list the other posters got to first... no need to comment.

Not sure this means anything. Nieminen was a UFA last summer too, and Sutter just traded for him. Having said that, I don't think Sutter will be dealing for Rasmussen.

Point taken, but last summer there wasn't any interest in Rasmussen from the Flames camp, however there was definately interest from the Flames camp on Ville, Sutter tried to go out and get him, but just didn't have the Dollars and Cents at that point to sign him.

Shanw Bates - surely would be nice addition
Bates Battaglia - there is something wrong with him lately , but maybe he would work out there
Jon Cheechoo - They wont move him...
Dan Cleary - Why?, he is lazy
Marius Czerkawski-WHY? , cant play D
Pascal Duipis 0 Would be great addition , but wont be moved
Mike Eastwood - I like this idea
Scott Gomez - man , thats a playmaker that we could use
Chad Kilger -why? , another Green type pilon
Jason Krog - Would help
Trevor Letowski - He would not crack our top 12F
Grant Marshall - good idea, but cant see NJ trading him
Eric Messier -Thats the depth move that I would like
Randy Robitaille- Nah , his like Chow
Pavel Rosa - Career AHLer
Erik Rasmussen- another green
Mike Rupp- look above
Mike Sillinger- good vet for PO
Shaun Van Allen- as above

I'd be interested in Jason Krog. A former Hobey Baker Award winner and an upgrade over the fragile and probably finished career-wise Blair Betts.

A Krog-like deal would be about the extent of Darryl Sutter's tinkerings come trade deadline day taking into account the Flames' precarious finances.
