Playing with the numbers

Carter and Hartnell are both 17 and Pitkanen and Kimmo are both 44. Who is going to budge with their number!?!? haha

Depends, I don't know a lot about the incoming players, they may just pick different #s. Upshall wanted 10 but the Flyers wouldn't give it to him cause of Leclair and it wasn't a problem.

both carter&pitkanen keep their #'s. i did hear somewhere that one incoming guy wanted his # badly enough he bought it off the other guy in the form of an expensive rolex.

Players sell their numbers to other players all the time in every sport. If the guy is not attached to it then a payoff is in order. Basketball is the worst where some guys pay big bucks to get their #. So I don't see any problem.

It's a perfectly legitimate reason to trade a player.
