Hypothetical: Who would you take for Lundqvist?

Just wondering...based on his incredible performance the last two years and what he means to this team and the fans, who would you trade Lundqvist for...one for one?

Outside of Crosby, I don't think I'd trade him straight up for any other player in the league.

Joe Thornton?

Yuck.

I'd move him for Cam Ward and a lot of prospects and picks.

I'd move him to Minny for Harding and a lot of prospects and picks.

In any trade, I'd want a young goaltender back.

There's not a single player outside of Crosby who'd give enough value 1-for-1.

Henrik Sedin, Roberto Luongo and a 1st rounder...anyone would be crazy to say no to that and Vancouver would be to say yes.
Phaneuf and Kipper?
Malkin and Fleury?
Kovalchuk and Lehtonen?

None of those teams accept those offers for Henrik straight up, if that's what you were implying.

And the list is very, very short: Luongo.

You don't trade young great goaltending for anything other than that. You build your team from the net out.

obviously not lol, if Calg or any of those other teams' GMs accepted that, they should be put in an insane asylum...

From a NYR perspective though, those combos i think would be enticing.

Agree with you 100%.

I really won't trade Lundqvist for anyone. Much easier to draft/trade for a star center then a star goalie.

No one.

Lundqvist is going to win the Cup. Hopefully as a Ranger.

Not even Ovechkin. A goalie of his skill is just not to be traded.

Probably no one straight up. Not even because he's an excellent goalie, but because he has grown on me a lot. I want to watch him hit his prime here in NY and nowhere else

I wouldn't trade him for anyone. In fact, I'd like to tie him up in a DP-like deal.

LOL

Lundqvist is a great goalie, top 5 in the league for sure, but to say you wouldn't trade him for anyone?

If you were a Rangers fan you would say the same thing, admit it. We love him here. Yes Luongo is better, and trading him for and elite forward like Ovechkin would be a good deal, but I'm betting no one here would dare to do it

Name any incentive in which we would have to trade Lundqvist.

Lundqvist is an elite goalie and an awesome guy to have on the team.

I wouldn't trade him for anything, because realistically, nothing anyone can offer us would be worth it.

This is all hypothetical, right? Sidney Crosby. Roberto Luongo. Alexander Ovechkin. Malkin isn't a reach.

I wouldn't move Lundy for Luongo. Too much of a lateral move.

Only Crosby, IMO.

Wouldn't do it for Ovechkin either straight up.
