I doubt it.

I see Zidlicky being moved in one of three ways:

1) A 1 for 1 deal for a different type, cheaper defenseman.
2) Packaged with something for a first round pick.
3) Dealt for virtually nothing just to get rid of him.

Those three scenarios aside, I still wouldn't be surprised to see him on the roster this year. In the first two years, he was definitely worth the money that he made last year. Last year, he sucked. I think he will revert back to form as an offensive dynamo.

If Leipold is serious about cutting salary, then Zidlicky will be gone replaced by one of our never ending list of young defenseman.

I hope we at least get a 1st rounder on draft day for Zids...

probably not gonna happen though. We'll be lucky to get a case of jock straps for him.

If there are rumblings of the Predators using Zidlicky (or anyone else) to jump up in the draft I think Angelo Esposito would be a natural target for the Predators. Radulov and Esposito were a great duo in the QMJHL, and the prospect of reuniting them is an exciting one. Also, Esposito's disapointing year and tumble down the draft chart could make such a deal a real possibility.

There are several teams in the 10-14 range (where Esposito should be going) that will be looking to turn it around and make the playoffs in 07-08, if the Predators could work out a deal where they get the Leafs, Avs, Oilers, Habs or even the Ducks (who might loose Selenna) pick for the rights to talk to Kariya or Forsberg (of course a deal would already be worked out) if Esposito is still on the board.

Well, at this stage, there's not "rumblings," it's just my making a wild stab.
