Renney Guarantees a stanley cup

"You don’t know how moving that is to be able to have a standing ovation and your fans singing you know the song of ‘go rangers go’ when you’ve just lost game 6 in the playoffs, and your going back into change and watch the rest of the payoffs on TV, so understand this, were committed to you people and we’re going to win a Stanley Cup” -Renney (June 16, 2007)

I believe it

I was at the Garden that afternoon, and it was electric. Absolutely unbelievable.

I know some people were critical of renney throughout the year, and they had reason to be. I was one who never wanted him fired, though I'll admit, I too questioned a lot of his moves.

But comments like this further solidify the fact that this guy is the right coach for the Rangers. he loves NY, and he loves the team and the fans. Even away from the rink, this guy has the right attitude, and he wants to win.

You can't ask for much more.

Way to go Tom!

I didnt want him fired either! My dad would say so mean thing about him, such as, the only reason he is coach is because he gives jagr back rubs... . I like renney, and he gets along good with the members of the team. I love it when he wears his black on black suite, because that means he's serious about the game

I completely agree. I hated Renney most of the season, but he has proven that he is actually a very smart coach and I am glad he is our coach.

this past season was the first season since 96' that i didn't go to a single game at the garden

i am going to need to get back to a game each November from here on out

and i always liked renney, but i do wish prucha can get more ice time. but then again i understand it since a fly can knock him off the puck

Hey, you have to give the guy props. he always gets up, and he picks arguments with guys three times his size! Watch Prucha in this video after avery is on the ice (like 14 seconds into it) and keep watching PRUCHA

I remember being so skeptical when he was announced as head coach. I figured he would be another Ron Lowe, taking orders with the earpiece from Sather. Now I understand Jagr, and Lundqvist are huge reasons for our success of late, but at the same time Renney has got us to the playoffs two years in a row. After going through Muckler, Lowe, Trottier, and Sather as head coach's, I appreciate what Renney has done for this orginization.

the way he slaughtered lundqvist in that infamous game against the leafs and how he handles prucha is repulsive. also the fact that malik can do whatever he wants without fearing any consequences is enough to dislike renney.

what happened to lundqvist? I watched it, i just probably forgot. Do you mean putting prut with callahan and cullen, or his playing time? I think he could get ALOT more playing time but i love the C2(sqared) and P line! He needs to make malik do some sprints or something, seriously. He should've benched him when he did that spin around move and gave the puck to the other team, and we lost
but i like renney. You named a few things, but he got us to the playoffs, and he will bring us the cup.

you think we could have gotten that far without him? I know we couldn't have. befor every playoff game he would cheer them on, and give them words of encouragement. Would you rather have Ruff?

As opposed to calling them useless ****heads who had no chance at victory, like every other coach in the league does.
