Personally, I'm not sure the Hawks would be netting all that much to trade out of the number one spot.
I don't see dale trading the pick unless that is in place.

The problem I see is what Chicago would have to offer up to retain the ability to draft Kane at #3 would be more than what Phoenix will offer to get the #1 spot to draft Turris. From what I've read, Philly is very high on Kane, so to get them to bypass him might be steep. IMO, it would be better for CHicago just to draft Kane and let Philly and Phoenix negotiate the price for Turris.

If you believe the rumour it's 2 teams in the west which rules out Buffalo.

Exactly which is why I said Dale doesn't move unless he has made a deal to move to #2 to select Kane. Otherwise he takes Kane #1.

I would agree with that. If you can trade the number one then deal with Philly to leave Kane and come out with a net gain then you obviously do it. If Tallon can't work those deals to his benefit he sits tight and drafts Kane.

I think this is a complete bluff by Chicago in hopes that Holmgren will panic and make a move to get turris at #1 and Chicago gets Kane at 2. Phoenix has been talking about moving down recently no?

Homer was on the radio and said Chicago will call him and tell him who they are picking as soon as all trades are ruled out.

And he's going to believe them? Surely he could start bluffing again to try and get something extra out of Holmgren.

overpayment.though i wish buffalo could land kane. it would be good for the city.(not talking about his talent)--- which might seem shocking.

i have my doubts he is the best player in the draft personally. i would just like the local product to get local recognition. something the nhl is good for.

no doubt chicago could trade out and not be ridiculed or low balled.

The Flyers are going to be happy with whoever they get at #2, theres no way at all they trade for the #1.

I don't think Holmgren wants anyone bad enough to swap with Chicago. He'll either keep it or move down.

Then why does he want Chicago to notify him of who they're picking? I'd take that to mean he could move up or down depending on who will be available at #2.

Maybe he'd like to move down if Chi takes whoever is 1st on his list.

If Chicago takes Turris what can Philly do to get him? Nothing, oh well you take Kane and move on. But trading up to prevent chicago from taking Turris is silly when Kane could end up being a better player.

Courtesy so Homer can work out a trade with someone if they want a player the Hawks didnt pick.

But the Hawks are taking Kane.

Tallon was on TV and was just talking about it with Kypreos and Principe.
