Leipold Backs Out!

I'm glad to hear you guys won't be moving to Hamilton. I'd love to see another Canadian team, but not like this.

KC Reps at the draft though...

TSN - Leopold isn't selling

Just on TSN - Leopold has made request to NHL to have Balsillie removed from consideration citing lack of agreement & idications of wanting to move team

Being an Ontario boy, I really want a team in Hamilton or K/W. But I didn't want it to happen this way. I'm very glad for you guys and I hope you never have to move.

I think the fact that Leipold said that this is largely because Balsillie's intent was to move the team right away...KC would be no different. It stands to reason that the local group could very well be a serious bidder.

I can hardly type I'm so happy. We're not out of the woods yet, but this is a SERIOUS step in the right direction!

The Tennessean is reporting "Del Biaggio says he won't bid on Preds again"

(Caution, they reported this morning Poile was not shopping any players under contract including Vokoun.)

Great news. Just stay far away from Same Fingold and you could be in the clear. I'm really happy to hear this, I know how hard it is to watch someone try to take your team away. I wonder what they are going to do with all those Hamilton season tickets.

Amazing news!!! Wow I can't believe it. We are not completely safe yet but hopefully the local group continues its efforts and the team stays! I am in shock.

I won't rejoice until we are sold locally and this team is for sure going to stay here.

I won't buy the fact that the KC group isn't still hovering around.

We're not out of the woods yet. We still must fix our corporate sales.

And who's to say that Leipold wouldn't move the team himself?

I agree, but this was a big first step.

While I wont' hide that I'm disapointed the Predators won't becoming to Hamilton, the last 2-3 weeks of looking more closely at the Predators young players and development system has turned me into a fan of the team, even if it is staying Nashville and I will definatly be following it in the 08-09 and beyond.
