Morrison wanted more money and ice time before he earned it. Lou didn't take kindly and shipped him off.

Don't mean that it won't be waived by the player.

The Devils also had extraordinary depth at center at the time with Arnott, Gomez, Holik and Madden as their pivots down the middle. Morrison was an attractive trade bait and a hometown boy Vancouver coveted when they flipped NJ Mogilny.

The player has to want to leave. Ohlund does not for reasons most Canuck fans can explain.

Ohlund's son has a medical condition that's being treated here. I doubt he would wave his NTC even if he did like the team he was being traded to.

Ok, let me be clearer. Ohlund won't want to play in any city not named Vancouver.

Why would NJ want Schneider if they already have Jeff Frazee. Maybe Schneider is a bit better but NJ already has a good goalie prospect to work with.

Theres no way we trade Zajac, if we lose Gomez we need to get a center not trade one

Schneider is miles ahead of Frazee.

Still possible.

For what it is worth, the Canucks were prepared to trade away a package of Cory Schneider, their 2007 1st round pick, and their 2008 first round pick, for the opportunity to draft Kyle Turris today.

Yikes, too much IMO. That's 3 first rounders, one a well developed prospect.

I don't think that is what is being said. "It would have cost the Canucks their first pick this year, their first next year and unsigned college goalie Cory Schneider to land Turris."

Sounds to me like they weren't willing to give up that package...
