To have one's name engraved on the Stanley Cup certain requirements must be met. A player must have at least 41 games played with the club or one game played in the Stanley Cup Finals. However, in 1994 a stipulation was added to allow a team to petition the Commissioner for permission to have players' names put on the Cup if extenuating circumstances prevented them from being available to play.
I kow that the team can ask the NHL to add a name even if the requirements were not meet...but I doubt that his name is on the cup.
No, his name will not be on the Cup. He didn't play 41 games with the team or in the Finals, and I doubt that Burke could (or even would) petition to have it on there. He did get to hoist it (the last Ducks player to do so... there's some trivia for you) and he got to take part in the celebration. I don't know what the requirements are for getting a championship ring, but if he does get one, I'm checking E-Bay for it.
There are 35 names to be written on Lord Stanley's Cup every year...that I found out...

played in the finals...makes 21...Bryz and maybe Parros will have their names on the cup as well, Shannon played 55 games in the season, he will as well. = 24. Then there are GM, coaching staff, etc...I don't think that Caron will have his name on the cup!
Caron, Motzko, Carter, Miller, Rome and the rest of the players who were in Anaheim and skated with the Cup will have their name inscribed and get a ring. The Ducks submitted 52 names to the NHL and they have never declined.
In all, 13 present and former pirates will have their names put on the Cup.
As for Caron, The Ducks will still qualify him in order to protect his NHL rights. I'm not sure if he has an out clause in his contract though.

Cool. WC, any chance you could get a list of the 52? I'd like to know which coaches and front office staff were on there.
THere's a special rule for backup goalies. I can't think of it offhand, but I do believe he gets his name on the cup.
Yeah I think he does as well. I remember Stephane Fiset getting his name on the cup in 95-96 without playing in the post season. I'm pretty sure the backup just has to play X # of games during the regular season, and I'm confident that Bryzy met the criteria.
