RFAs

I just heard on KFAN that DR has made qualifying offers to all of our RFA's, except Adam Hall.

sorry to double post, but I was wondering, since we didn't make a qualifying offer to Hall, does that mean if another team makes an offer, that we could match or get compensation? or does the compensation for RFA's only work if the player is offered a qualifying offer and he turns it down.

If a player doesn't get a qualifying offer, he becomes a UFA - thus the team has absolutely no right to match any offer from another team.

"Right to match" is extended when a team gives a player a qualifying offer; should that player then receive an offer sheet from another team, the original team has the right to match the terms of that offer sheet as is (meaning they can't propose something else) or they can choose not to match and receive compensation (the ranges for this year are in a thread in the Business of Hockey forum).

Why Hall was not qualified?

I believe the qualifying offer for Hall had to be something like 1.1 million. The organization didn't feel he was worth that.
