would you ship kronwall 4 kubina

i read torontos down on him , and see his career stats of a decent amount of goals and that its said he has a good shot . plus hes 240 lbs so should be able to keep crease clear which is a big prob 4 us imo . and if this move made i dont sign schneider . and put kubina in his role on the second pairing . this increases D size and still gives us a point shot to replace schneider . but its krons 3 per 4 kubs 5 per so its a cap bump up .

im no hockey expert so im not saying do this trade , im just wondering out loud in attempt to learn more about hockey .

Do you want a serious answer or a sarcastic one?

Why do you think that Detroit is still one of the top teams in the NHL and not Toronto?

....because as we all know by now, as far as defensemen go.... Kronwall is cheap, cheap, cheap!

nope

I believe Kronwall has an upside none of us have even seen the neighborhood of. I say stuff his locker with 4 leaf clovers and hang a horshoe over it. If he stops getting sidelined by crazy injuries he will be dominant on the blueline.

No, but I wouldn't necessarily be all that opposed to trading the negotiating rights for Schneider to Toronto for Kubina. Big strong guy with a big (RIGHTY!!!) shot to replace a not so big guy with a big shot. Yes, Pavel makes a crazy amount of money but it sounds like Schneider doesn't want to be too cheap, cheap, cheap himself. We also wouldn't need Markov in this scenario and could just let some of the kids rotate in.

Admittedly being allowed to talk to High and Wide a week early wouldn't get it done, but my opposition to the initial post doesn't lie with Kubina, but with Kronwall.

Kronwall's health issues concern me but I'd rather have him than Kubina.

I'm with NorrisNick on this. Bringing Kubina in isn't necessarily a bad thing, just not for Kronwall.

I still think Kubina is one of the most overpriced defenceman in the league. The guy has always had all the tools, but he's never come close to hitting his potential, and he isn't going to suddenly develope the passion and zeal he's been missing at this stage in his career. At least Kronwall has an upside, and I don't think even at this stage in his career, he's as prone to the mental lapses Kubina has in his own end. I'll take the cheaper Kronwall anyday, and this isn't even close...

kronwall is a lot cheaper and has just as good of upside as kubina currently is... many ppl are injury prone, think about it this way, hes not really injury prone exactly to the sense of the same thing keeps happening, but hes more along the lines of bad luck!

Yeah, but only if they throw in Belak and the rights to Aki Berg.

Honestly speaking as a leaf fan, John Ferguson would probably trade this guy for nothing (5th round pick)

JFJ is getting toasted here in Toronto for the signing of Kubina...someone brings it up on the radio like every few days!

I think he would give you guys Kubina if you will take him.

You never know, though - Sheldon "I have a minus 500" Souray is going to get Chara money this summer. Kubina's contract might not look so bad...

i cant stand kronwall. i cant stand the way he plays. i cant stand the hype around him. hes got decent skating, the only thing worse than his shot is hes outlet passing. i cant stand the contract they signed him for. kubina isnt the answer cause thats a worse contract than krowalls but i would trade kronwall in a heartbeat.
