Went with Nigel again. I've seen more of him than pretty much everyone else and I like what I see. I think he's NHL ready.

Korpedo...

the fact that he is probably going to be voted the 10th best prospect in the system is an absolute shame...

Bobby Sangs is terrible defensively and still pretty raw which is why I can't bring myself to vote him ahead of Nigel. Ani seems like a nice prospect but I'd at least like to see the kid play a game stateside before I put him top-10 (I'd like to actually witness his play, period).

Dubinsky will be a solid player I'm sure, but I have doubts about his offensive upside. If he's going to be a defensive-minded center on the third line, then I'll pick Nigel over him any day.

Isn't that really a blessing in disguise? Maybe not for him personally, but for the rest of us. I mean if one of your first round picks from only 3 years ago is barely one of your top 10 prospects then you're either doing something really right, or really wrong.

lol @ montoya being ranked higher than Cherepanov. Montoya has never even played at a level beyond the AHL, and he's the next Patrick Roy already? Give me a break, he's UNPROVEN, the hype surrounding him is NOT JUSTIFIED...what was his save % in the A, wasn't it lower than henrik's, who plays in the NHL??? Jeez, ridiculous...

Rangers traded him to Montreal at the deadline for signing draft picks--just a few days before the draft. They got a 7th rounder back for him which is why we have two 7th rd. picks.

As for Korpikoski being the 10th best prospect--I think it shows how strong our system is getting rather than showing that Korpikoski is a disappointment. I still think he is a very good prospect with somewhat the same kind of upside as Dubinsky. He's potentially a 2nd liner and should at least be a very good 3rd liner--maybe a less offensive version of Jere Lehtinen. Bourret and Anisimov have higher ceilings because they seem at least now to be better offensive players.

I look at is as being great, it shows how much depth we have in our system right now. The 9 guys before him are not too shaby at all, nor will a few of the ones after him.

A good year from Korpi this season will boost him up on the ranking though, he started to adapt to the NA style of hockey as the year went on. Next year should be a fun year on the Pack.

It came down to he wasn't going to sign. He was going to re-enter the draft. The frame for negotiating had all but run out. On the other hand it was commented that we have met our quota of for small talented forwards. Russell was a 7th rd. himself. Montreal was interested because they had another highly regarded prospect ready to turn pro from Russell's WHL team. I liked Russell myself. Wasn't all that pleased but what can you do? Good luck to him. Hope if he makes it he doesn't become a Ranger killer.
