I'm not clear on whta you're asking, but he has yearly performance bonuses on his contract. the base salary is probably around 850K.

Yeah, his base is 984k, so if you take his rookie bonus of 1.7m and divide it by 2 (850k) and add that to 984k you get the 1.8m you stated.

well, I'm not sure what a rookie bonus is, but his contract is 3 years total.

Yes that is true.

Also, Al Gore won the popular vote in the 2000 United States Presidential election by about half a million votes, so let's factor that in.
