Solid deal, for a solid depth guy.

I think CBJ fans will be pleasantly surprised with this guy. I'm betting he'll be a solid 2nd pairing guy for the team on defense.

How does every topic on these boards somehow end up being about edmonton?

Hejda wasn't wanted nor needed.

Good depth pickup by Columbus though.

Wow, 1 million??

I sorta wanted this guy to add some mustard to Buffalo's blue line, he'd be a good fit on the 3rd pairing there if someone was moved... I won't be surprised if he comes up the charts like he did in Edmonton and ends up playing 20+ minutes.

Great deal for the Jackets, 1 million, dayamn!

Small risk, potential big reward in a solid physical, defenseively good, top-4 guy. And if he busts, 1 year at 1 million... Great deal.

Really solid signing. Hejda looked pretty good last season.

Probably because Hejda played for the Oilers last year... thats where I see the connection.

$1M seems a bit too steep for a depth guy.

I liked Hejda. We didn't have any room for him, which was kind of too bad. I'm glad another team picked him up.

Columbus has enough Hejdas already. They need guys that are better than what they have, not equal.

I disagree.

Klesla - Foote
Tollefsen - Hainsey
Hejda - Westcott (concussion issues)
Methot - Russell (Not NHL ready)
Brookbank

Hejda steps in to bolster the 4-6 spots and add insurance for Duvie, as well as providing more time for our Young D-men in minors that are on the cusp of breaking in. I'd expect another similiar ~$1M signing soon, only for a more offensive defencemen

The Oilers have a bunch of depth guys on D already so we didn't need him, but Hejda is a solid player. Remember, Howson saw the Oilers all last year so he is well aware of Hejda's capabilities.

Hejda's a good pickup. He should be able to help the Jackets.
