zero confirmation, and Calgary already has too many goaltenders in the system, with 2 who look ready to make the jump to the NHL (thus fighting it out for the backup spot in September). i don't even think Eklund would bother with this "rumor"
I'm not certain Krahn is going to put up much of a fight against McElhinney. He was a surprise to even get re-signed by the Flames organization.
Couple that with the fact McElhinney is coming off an all-star year where he started and Krahn backed him up, and it's McElhinney's spot to lose.
I think Krahn will backup Kipper because Sutter wants McElhinney to play more than 10 games next season. After Kipper the future in goal for the Flames is McElhinney and Irving, after all these years he doesn't care about Krahns devopement...he is what he is.
And Vokouuuunnnn,Salei (money not spent on Luongo/Bertuzzi). Yes,spending money on Luongo in a "ideal world/situation" might have been the best option, but you cannot predict life.
By that logic, there's no such thing as a bad trade. Sure the Islanders may have traded Luongo and Jokinen to you guys for Parrish and Kvasha, but with that money saved, they were able to sign DiPietro for 60 years. Trade erased!
Every team has made a bad trade. As a fan, just take your lumps and move on.
