Detroit will probably be good again, they might need to add say a 2nd round pick as well.

Valtteri Filppula will do nicely.

I think there is 0 chance Bryzgalov will go to a west coast contender... maybe a rebuilding team but not a contender. Be the worst move ever if he's the reason why we lose in the playoffs.

From what i've read, it seems like burke is holding out for a 2008 1st round pick... people were offering a 2007 but he didn't want anything to do with it.

I think his stance is we would like to trade him but only if we get a good return with him, he has no problem having him backup again next year...

in fact i'd really play Bryz a lot early so people can see he is a bonafide starter.

It would be nice for Jiggy to get a "groin" strain the first 10 games of the season and we get some really nice cap space too.

Of course, nobody would have a problem with this. But Bryzgalov wants any more to be a back up. I understand his stance.

I have heard that they are working on a deal with Tampa. We would send Marchant and Bryzgalov to Tampa for a 2nd rounder and two or three forward prospects. But right now,Tampa is looking to deal Denis first.

Well, beside Blair Jones and eventually Lawrence what forward prospects does Tampa have? If we can get both + a secondrounder in 2008 I would go for it. But I would not accept less like 23y-25y old players for Portland.

Meh...keep the prospects and upgrade the 2nd to a 1st and it's a done deal.

From the OCRegister regarding Bryz.

The Ducks could possibly get everyone back except backup goalie Ilya Bryzgalov, who is expected to be traded, perhaps to Ottawa, where Bryan Murray always has been a fan.

tbl are the first to experience this in the cap era.... buffalo is going through it this year....and im certain there are many others that will soon as well...if not this year.

Very very true...though St Lous and Lecavalier are worth their weight in gold.

If he gets traded to Ottawa he can put Marvin the Martian designs on his helmet instead of Daffy and Darkwing ducks etc

Tampa still seems like the new home for Bryzgalov. I'm not hearing anything different right now.

McKee

David McKee is now a free agent. He had a 2 year deal, I thought. What happened? He was good last year in Augusta, and the brass had good words about him, now he's erased from the roster.

We have Coleman and Hiller for Portland and Levasseur for Augusta. No room for him.

He was a RFA, but he wasn't qualified.

Hopefully, he will get another chance with a team.
