Good news if it's true. Now Sather just has to lock up Lundqvist and Avery.

I've seen nothing of this ANYWHERE. Prucha is done, we all know. I don't think this Shanny report is credible.

Where do you guys find these random blogs...

I don't think he's signed yet, but he could be close. Also, what's up with that site and the time stamp saying he posted that at 9-something AM? Did he really "scoop" the Prucha signing, or is the time stamp off?

According to that blog we signed forsberg and souray too... Although Weinman is saying he's hearing the Shanny is signed too. I won't believe it til confirmed

There are rumblings the next signing is Shanahan, although still unconfirmed. I’ve posed the question to a Rangers source and he hasn’t responded, which could be telling in itself.

The time is actually like 3 hours back on that site. They have someone posting a post from Sam's blog from 1:51 PM at 11:16 AM...

Let's get Avery done and we can get ready to drop the puck. I think he's as, if not more important than Shanny. No disrespect to Shanny either.

If Shanny is resigned BEFORE Lundqvist, Avery, and Hossa then the Rangers are taking a huge risk in any one of the 3 signing an offer sheet...

you can make a case that the a return of a draft pick for Hossa (because of depth) wouldn't be a bad thing...fair enough but the Rangers are taking a huge risk leaving two of the more important players...actually scratch that...THE MOST IMPORTANT PLAYER IN LUNDQVIST and a very important player in Avery out there as Restricted free agents...I don't want to hear these guys won't sign RFA contracts...if you believe that your not living in reality...

10% over the cap.

rangers can match and go over the cap no problemo. then trade cullen or mara, or both, and youre ok again.

I understand that but with Kaspar still on the books until the season starts they are really "playing" with less money...

I understand those three players have value but if this team NEEDS to cut salary in a jiffy teams are not going to just help the Rangers...

There is no way this blog is for real. It looks very fake.

Even if Shanahan re-signed today, I still would't trust this one bit.

They took a wild guess.

I wouldn't sweat it, SoS - I look at it the other way around. Seems that Shanny's deal is the easiest to do, given his comments in the media and if they're working on something that's incentive-laden and therefore quite affordable, it makes sense to get it done so you know what you have left.

And, as others have indicated, if someone comes in and offers a compelling RFA deal to Lundqvist in the meantime, meh - you've got the 10% exception allowing you to match.

No, definitely not forgetting Henrik. It's just that I feel he is more of a lock than Avery.

That blog is not fake..

The blogger has a ton of sources and will report what he's hearing just to put it out there.. He's been right MUCH more often than not, and he wasn't the only one reporting about the Souray and Forsberg talks being close, but ultimately the Rangers needed to take care of their RFA's first...

He doesn't claim to be an "insider," he's just a big Rangers, Giants, Yankees, Knicks fan who has a lot of sources in the media.

I don't doubt you Davisian, but it's still funny to me how people throw random blogs at us as if word from them equates to fact.
