Lineup once players get back.

I posted this over at the Sportsnet forum, and was wondering what you guys think will happen.

If the Oilers win the next two games I'd expect a 2 for one deal to happen at the trade deadline as we have too many forwards being scratched that could play. If they lose two than you can count Oates being shipped off by the deadline.

Right now we have:

LW
Smyth
York(Has to be switched over to wing IMO)
Moreau
Torres
Chimera(won't have a regular spot if the Oilers make playoffs)

C
Nedved
Horcoff
Oates
Reasoner
Stoll(Playing above expectations, only stays up if Oates is traded, or if Reasoner is sidetracked even longer)

RW
Hemsky
Dvorak
Isbister(plays both wings, but where does he fit?)
Pisani
Laraque

A 100% healthy team:

York-Nedved-Dvorak
Smyth-Horcoff-Hemsky/Isbister
Moreau-Reasoner-Pisani
Torres-Oates-Hemsky/Isbister/Laraque

Stoll sent down or PB guy.

Last night with the game on the line MacT shortened his bench and Oates, Hemsky and Chimera sat. I would say that is a pretty good clue as to what will happen but I don't think there will be any trading. I think we are done.

Stoll has got to stay he's deserved a chance to stay in the line-up to me he has played better then Oates. he's good on draws, pk is good, chipped in with 9 goals offensivly and makes smart plays. this guy has got to stay in there.

I never said to post your lineup as the other threads did. Nothing was really discussed in the other threads, besides having people put down their lineups.

Fair enough, but one can argue that Oates has been playing a bit better lately, and was a key factor in the Ducks playoff run last year. Experience goes a long way in the playoffs.

York Nedved dvorak
Smyth Horcoff Pisani
Hemsky Oates Moreau
Torres Stoll Laraque/Isbister

Reasoner will not be back for a long while, when he does I coud see a rotation between the three of oates stoll and reasoner with stoll seeing fewer and fewer games as the season goes on providing reasoner plays well.

I think the oilers will have 2 very solid scoring lines when York comes back.

Smyth - York - Hemsky (was a very good line last year, could get hemsky going again, remember him last march?)
Torres - Nedved - Dvorak (Should jel very well together)
Moreau - Oates - Pisani (Moreau and oates have been good together)
Isbister - Horcoff - Laraque
Extra - Reasoner (IR), Stoll, Chimera

posted this in another thread, but I'll give my reasoning...

Smyth York Hemsky (as mentioned, good chemistry from last year)

Isbister Nedved Dvorak (I think Izzy looks better here than Torres, and played well with Dvorak before getting injured)

Moreau Oates Horcoff (I think Horcoff needs to be in the lineup with the way he's played & for the PK, Moreau and Oates are starting to show some chemistry, and I think Oates will look good with Nedved on the PP - so he has to stay in the lineup.)

Torres Stoll Laraque (I think Torres would bring a lot to this line. Laraque and Stoll have both been playing great lately)

PB: Chimera, Pisani
IR: Reasoner

Note: if Hemsky doesn't come around, then:

Smyth Horcoff York
Izzy Nedved Dvo
Moreau Oates Pisani
Torres Stoll Laraque

There was an item in the Journal earlier in the week (before the Markkanen deal) that basically told of Conklin's going backwards in practice because he was overcompensating for the injury and getting into bad habits. It may have even mentioned they were worried he might hurt himself the way he was playing, but this is all from memory so I might have that part wrong.

As for the lineups, well I would hope that they go with a lineup like this:

Horcoff-Smyth-Pisani
Nedved-Torres-Dvorak
York-Moreau-Hemsky
Stoll-Chimera-Laraque

but my guess would be that Hemsky comes out of the lineup until the season is decided before Oates does, and that Chimera heads upstairs when Isbister is ready to come back.

If Reasoner was healthy, trade Oates

York - Nedved - Dvorak
Smyth - Horcoff - Moreau
Isbister - Reasoner in place of Oates - Hemsky
Torres - Stoll - Laraque

Chimera Pisani

Brewer Smith
Staios Cross
Semenov Ulanov
Bergeron
Markkanen
Salo
