staal-malkin-christensen

your wingers are probably better, but the pens did score 277 goals last year and have added sykora.

You never saw that team on paper because that team never existed.

But our goalie sure can

How about Buffalo:

Vanek-Connoly-Afinogenov
Kotalik-Roy-Pominville

That's awesome Carter was playing for the caps and the rangers at the same time, how the hell did I miss that.

not nearly as intimidating when they are on the top 2 lines.

losing zubrus, drury and briere is going to be huge.

i still see them making the playoffs, but not as a presidents trophy team, but more like a 5, 6 or 7.

Well yeah, they're not as intimidating as before. I just wanted to point out that eventhough they've lost Drury and Briere, they're still a team capable of scoring in boatloads. Young too.

A better question would be - who has the best top 9 in hockey?

I feel that our top 9 is probably the best.

If you believe Eklund, he thinks Philly will have:

Gagne - Briere - Selanne
Forsberg - Carter - Hartnell

As a Flyers fan its hard to answer "yes" to the topic title...but ultimately I have to say it.

Im not a huge Rangers fan, but I love Shanny and even more so Avery. That being said, I don't know a huge amount about how your minutes will be distributed but I just hope we still get to see a decent amount of Avery on the ice. He was gold last year, I really loved seeing him play....and by the few "Avery Mancrush" threads I remember im guessing you guys loved him too.

That'd be pretty intimidating though.

They'd be in the EC mix.

I'll point out that Drury in Buffalo never played with talented linemates. That can be construed as a positive or a negative, but I'd like to point that out.

Like someone else said- let's hope Bonding 101 works real well this season
Carter was the player that the Caps got back when they traded Jagr to us.

Pretty intimidating? In the mix? That team would be an underachieving embarassment if it lost 20 games in a season.

But it won't happen, so it doesn't matter. I think there's a good chance of the Flyers signing Forsberg in December. I don't see Selanne though.

A little late to the party as I often find myself, but I'll go ahead and say that on paper we have the best top-6 in hockey. On paper, mind you, and we all know that the games are played on the ice and not paper.

If Wolski and Statsny are for real and it sure looks like they are that could be the best top 6. Also the Sens are pretty good with the 3 best forwards on one team aside from perhaps Tampa. Plus Fisher and whomever you want to pencil in for the other 2 of the 6. And of course the Rangers.
