To answer the question, I myself am not familiar with west-coast teams and their lines, but the best 6 forwards in SJ rival the best six in NY.

Cheechoo-Thornton-Michalek
Clowe-Marleau-Bernier

I think if Jagr has a season like two years ago or even a better one like he and some of the media's been hinting at i think we are all in for a treat.

On paper, not many teams compare to the top 2 lines.

But we all know what it takes to translate it onto the ice.

Plus... even if things go great and they are the toast of the town heading into the playoffs they still have to be a great playoff team (see 06-07' Sabres) which is a whole different ball of wax.

But i dont see too many teams comparing names to those top 6.

So Washington paid half of Jagrs salary, all of Carters and they BOTH played for us? That is a great deal. Maybe Glen Sather is a genius

Pittsburgh might have the top two centers. Those lines are nothing without Crosby and Malkin.

I like what the Rangers are doing, but don't expect Drury to be your top center. He's not a first line guy at all.

Like someone else said- let's hope Bonding 101 works real well this season
I think on paper during the 2003 -2004 season if you count Bure who was under contract but injured, all these players were on the roster at the same time. Even without Bure (who didn't play any games that season), its the perfect proof that you don't win any games on paper.

Barnaby - Lindros - Bure
Rucinsky - Holik - Jagr
Hlavac - Nedved - Kovalev
Simon - Messier - Ortmeyer

Leetch - Poti
DeVries - Malakhov
Kasparaitis - Tyutin

Dunham
Markannen

laugh now....i put NOTHING past Renney.....the guy comes up with the strangest combinations known to man.

I personally can't wait for the Orr-Gomez-Shanahan line. I think Colton could put up 3, maybe 5 goals playing with those 2. Do It TOM!!!!!

Jagr can't take over a game like Crosby or Ovechkin?

I just wish Jagr would dive more....

"but SoS that is so wrong!!"

I don't care...The guy is molested shift after shift and never complains....never dives to draw an obvious penalty..nothing...

Jagr can still take over a game at will....

He can't like Crosby, but he and Ovechkin are on par.

You definitely need to put Gomez on Jagr's line.

Gomez is very similar to Nylander as far as stick handling goes. He'll be a good fit there.

Straka-Gomez-Jagr
Shanahan-Drury-Prucha
Avery-Cullen-Callahan (I really liked that line last year)
Hollweg-Betts-Orr

Wait a minute! No one's mentioned:

Bergenheim, Comrie, Guerin
Fedotenko, Sillinger, Satan

...but seriously:
I can't believe no one has mentioned the Canes with:

Stillman, Staal, Cole
Whitney, Brindamour, Williams

and the Bruins could be real scary, real soon with:

Kessel, Bergeron, Murray
Sturm, Savard and Bochenski
