The Oilers D is horrible and they might have two decent goal scorers. They will be toast next year, and MacTavish and Lowe should pack their bags because they'll take the hit from it.

Wow, Souray's a -30 already and the season hasn't even started? Tough luck.

Well Hemsky finally has those two forwa. . . oh wait . . . no he still has no one to pass too unless he figures to drop pass the puck everytime he gets it. Sure the PP will be dangerous, but unless Pitkanen gets his head on straight and Souray magically finds Defensive ability they are going to have to pray they face teams willing to take 20-30 penalties a night so they don't get torn apart even strength.

Hmmm... an average of 14 posts per day. I commend you. You think it's time yet to get outside (enjoy that weather!) and make human contact of some sort?

i thought oilers would overpay for him because they got screwed at the begining of free agency but 5 years for 27 million dollars aint bad at all (source: tsn.ca)

Hey I hope Lupul does well for you guys. Philly's my second favorite team, my dad is a Flyers fan going back the Bobby Clarke/Broadstreet Bullies days.

Our defense was

Staois Smid
Gator Hejda
Bergeron Greene

For most of last year, that D-corps couldn't even get the puck out of their zone because no one could make an outlet pass, so y'know I'll take this year's iteration even if Pitkanen and Souray have their hiccups.

Any Oiler fan that thinks his team will make the playoffs is retarded. It simply won't happen. Sure, the Flyers will struggle this year but they won't be functionally retarded like Edmonton which can't even attract a decent free agent since the city sucks more than a drunk Pars Hilton. I am sorry but not every Canadian city deserves a team and you, obviously, do not. Please kill yourselves and let real humans have fun.

That is all.

Wow, that's just completely moronic. I suppose you think Philadelphia doesn't deserve a baseball team because the Phillies can't attract top of the line free agents either

There's nothing wrong with Edmonton (the city). They just need new ownership like the Phillies.

Edmonton deserves a team probably more than half of the other cities in the NHL. They may be the smallest market, but they have one of the most passionate fan bases in the league.

I feel sorry for them, they already have a terrible team and signing Souray prevents them from improving it.

I was also hoping he was going to end up on the Rags or Devils.

Nominated: most idiotic post in the history of the board.

FYI, Edmonton is a very successful franchise in the NHL, and in fact had to pay out in revenue sharing to all the cashsucking American franchises that make diddly squat....

A player we didn't want signs with a team not in our conference let alone a team we care about. Why do we care about this signing?

have you been to edmonton, or are you just piggy backing on what the media is spewing these days?...and you're right, only cities like nashville, carolina, and anaheim deserve teams...

jeez you guys are bitter about losing pitkanen...

Maybe Al Morganti started the thread, he had Souray as the #1 free agent on the market.

Anyways, this thread is going the wrong way
