Updated Habs performance chart... Habs now at their highest point of the season

We're at 9 games over .500

We haven't been that high for a LONG time. Well, OK that's where we were just before losing to San Jose... but before that it's been moons. At no other point this season nor in the last 2... and you can bet at no point in 2000-01 either.

Two seasons ago we barely made the playoffs with 5 games over .500... from our position right now we're in a better situation, but don't forget that a losing streak can put us below the level of two years ago, as was the case last week when we dropped to 4 games over .500 which might not have been good enough for the playoffs.

Personally, I think this year's team is much, much better than what we had in the last few seasons... but I feel there's a slight consistency problem... I mean, a 4 game losing streak followed by a 5 game winning streak? Way to give your fans gray hairs, Habs!

We are inconsistent because we are still a young team. The playoffs will be great for team unity, especially if we are in a heated series. We will grow next year and be even more consistent and even better.

Hmmm, I remember we were ranked 4th a few weeks before the end of the season in 97-98. We then dropped to 7th to end the regular season 5 games over .500. So we might have been 10 games over .500 at some point in that season.....

If it's not 97-98, we have to go back to 95-96 (season ended 8 games over .500), or 93-94 (12 games over .500).

Of course, there's a lot of differences since 2 years ago.

Koivu is there, he wasn't because of his cancer.

Dhykuis and Traverse aren't playing for Montreal regularly.
Souray is in great shape.
Ribeiro and Ryder exploded.
The ****ty Audead isn't there anymore, Gilmour too... His leadership has been taken by Souray and Quintal.

Rivet is playing a way better, and Markov too!
Theodore is playing as well as 2 years ago.

That is why we are better in 2004

Yeah, well fortunately I don't have the stats of 3 years ago... that year was FUGLY.

28 wins, 40 losses, 70 points
