Actually, they hadve 8 NHL defensemen. 2 got hurt in the Sens game, one got suspended from it, and they were missing 3 before that game due to injuries. When you lose 6 players in a position to injuries, that ruins anyones depth. The Flyers had one NHL defenseman on their team, Timmander who is a borderline NHL'er, 3 AHL'ers (two who were making their NHL debut) and Kapanen, a forward, on defense. They were also down a forward all game, because Fedoruk had to dress but was injured and couldn't play. Besides their top two centers being out. That is a depleted team. Does that excuse their effort? No, but you can't ignore those injuries, any team with a defense like that will have trouble, just look at the Caps for the rest of the season.

DUH!

Missing on D last night for the Flyers

Ragnarsson
Dejardins
Pitkanen
Markov
Seidenberg
Therien

Saying they don't have any depth is absurd.

And of course they were also missing
Primeau
Roenick
and technically Fridge since he was only dressed and on the bench because otherwise they wouldn't have been able to dress 24 people.
