sorry guys i didnt mean to cause any trouble over here just thought a friendly trade offer to see if you guys were interested in any of those players.
hossa is a very solid 2way player, yes he didnt have alot of points last season but he got hurt and was playing a very skilled puck posetion game and works very hard along the boards. He did all the dirty work on the jagr line when he was on the top line and is only going to make just under $1million and can play anywhere cept center and on any line.
Malik despite his boo birds in nyc he is a very dependable dman a #3-4, his only downfall is his speed, great first pass and very good with positioning.
Mara also played very well for us down the stretch last year although he had a horrible time in boston where he was used wrong mara would make for a good two dman that can play both sides of the puck well just not great. he a 3-5 spot guy
I like Hamhuis better than all of those guys. But Mara is pretty good, and so is Hossa.
Its not that bad, but it doesnt really help us. I wouldnt do it.
I agree it's not that bad of a deal value wise it just doesn't make any sense to do considering we already have too many solid D men. Also I liked how hossa came along at the end of the year but he hasn't proven to be consistent.
Come on guys...at least give the poster some credit...it is better than the reaming we would be taking on the other trade proposal that was posted today (see the Trade Rumors board for details...but it has us sending Weber, Suter, Hamhuis, and Radulov to the Sharks).
I really don't think that this trade does anything to really help our current team. It would in fact put us around 25 players with one-way contracts heading into training camp and I'm not really sure that the players coming our way would really fit into our organization that well.
