OT: And now for something completely ridiculous ...

Quote:
We were pleased to see the inventive Boogaard brothers, Derek and Aaron, find a way to give back to the hockey community in the offseason -- by holding a fight camp.

The two thugs on skates managed to attract 30 campers, ranging in age from 12 to 18, at the event in Regina, Saskatchewan, according to Canadian newspaper reports.

Derek, the 6-foot-7 member of the Minnesota Wild considered to be one of the league's premier pugilists, was quoted as saying the camp was really about how players can protect themselves while fighting. Now there's a guy who's thinking outside the box.

Our suggestion to young hockey players: If you don't want to get hurt fighting, then don't fight. But that's just us.

Here are some camps the Boogaards might consider hosting in the future -- Smart Camp, Skill Camp or Hall of Fame Camp. Or maybe not.
haha and some of us wanted this guy...nice

I don't see anything wrong with it. If they don't necessarily have the skill, then this another chance for them to possibly make a career out of hockey.

I think its ESPN just doing what they do best, taking shots at hockey because they no longer are trying to sell it.

How many of those "campers" were there just because they wanted to meet Derek Boogaard?

I'm supposed to be bothered by this? I don't think it's rediclous. Todd Fedoruk should have went to the camp, he certianly doesn't know how to avoid getting hit.

At least he's not killing dogs.

................and how many are there just to say "He kicked my ass"? I have read a few things on it and I am suprised the nhl has tapped him on the shoulder and suggested that he should run just a regular hockey school

C'mon, nothing is more ridiculous than Jones being considered "one of America's hottest bachelors."

Hey, Boogard is teaching what he knows... more power to him. There is nothing wrong with a couple of good ol' Canadian boys getting into a scrap.

I got it, no worries!

I think the title of the thread was chosen because it's the title of the blurb in the article. I never liked Burnside anyways. Buccigross is the man at ESPN.
