Equipment bag sizes?

Just wondering what size bag you all use. I bought my current bag in person, and just eyeballed it; I'm not even sure what size it is. I'll be buying a replacement online, and need to decide 36,
38, or 40 inches. Obviously the 36" is a little cheaper, but is that enough room for a full set of adult ice gear, socks, a couple jerseys, and a water bottle? Any help would be appreciated.

P.S.--I just like the avatar, not a goalie!

what size is your gear? if you're in L-XL then you should go with the 40"

Good question, I probably should have included that info originally. Anyway most of my gear is standard large size, I'm 5'11.

I kind of figured the 40" would be best, but thought I'd solicit a few opinions.

I'm 5' 11" and use a 36". It fits everything but its a little tight.

I use a funky dimension bag...22x15x22 and got tons of room to spare. From my point of view 36 would be ok, 38 is nice, and the 40 is a bit overkill IMO...unless it is a wheel bag then go for something big since you don't gotta lug it around. But keep in mind fitting in the car too, which is why I went with a different bag.

L elbows
XL shoulders
10.5 skates
two jerseys, soap bag, socks, helmet w/cage and gloves

my bag is 36" long X 17" wide X 19" tall and I have plenty of room. I could easily carry an extram helmet and a pair of gloves, maybe a couple more things.

36" should be fine, but it depends on how high the bag is.
