Nj/ Stl

very unlikley but ill just throw the idea out there for reaction anyway

STL Gets: D Brian Rafalski
C Mike Rupp
2nd rd pick in 2004
D Victor Uchenkov (prospect)

NJ Gets: C Pavol Demitra
D Bryce Salvador

STL shed salary which they were lookin to do in the offseason, Nj gets bonafide # 1 center, STL gets very solid defenseman to help compensate for McInnis loss

You're right....VERY unlikely that any trade of any type gets done between STL and NJ. I'm still surprised Lou dealt Danton to the Blues at the draft.

But to sum this up briefly....oh hell no.

While I like Rupp and Rafalski, the Blues cant afford to give up Demitra right now. Sorry.

I think that Demitra is worth more than Rafalski and a couple of prospects. The guy has consistently put up impressive numbers. Sure he's not big and physical but that doesn't make him any less effective.
Besides, if he were playing in NJ, his numbers would almost be cut in half so what's the point?

Salvador is a pretty good defenseman, I think he's a top 4 on STL.

St Louis say no, isn't Demitra too much $ for the devils anyway?

Would Demitra fit well enough in the system? I don't know if he is responsible enough defensively.

NJ is trying to cut salary also. I believe its around 40 million (around 10th in the league) This would not work.

Take Salvador out and the Blues would consider it.

I seriously doubt the Devils are at $40M. They were over 50 last year.

Must be the prospects. Martin and Hale are getting grossly over paid
