I can't say I was 100% for the Marshall trade but it was clear that Philbin and the new staff did not want any outside distractions with this current team. especially after this latest incident right before he got moved
The latest incident that has no police report , No police investigation , No surveilance of alledged punch and no witnesses?
Either way ,, I am pretty happy (I think Marshall is a POS personally) to get a legit #1 WR for not much
Sounds like Bears are hoping to go WR in 2nd round of this years draft as well
Gonna be strange to see an actual WR with legit gamebreaking abilty on Bears
I would LOVE Richardson because he's a type of running back the Jets have never had. Dude is a stud.
I like Michael Floyd as a player, but he sounds like he's got some attitude issues and the Jets could use as little of that as possible after last year.
This will be a really interesting draft, but I sure as hell won't be watching for obvious reasons.
Alot of it has to do with money/off field/ or simply players dont fit the new systems that there teams want to impliment and it is cheaper in some cases to give them away via trade then cut them and carry the dead cap space
If a top 3 WR in football doesn't fit a team's system, that team has a crappy system.
Hahahahaha. I really can't wait until Sanchez takes the necessary steps this year. Of course that's going to be next to impossible unless this team finds a right tackle this weekend because I can't see another year for Wayne Hunter. I just can't.
I want no part of Michael Floyd tomorrow. Receiver is ridiculously deep and there are more pressing needs that can be addressed at 16 then #2 wideout, especially when they also seem set on bringing back Braylon after the draft. I won't dispute the value of taking receiver. But with guys like Mohammed Sanu, B.J. Cunningham, Nick Toon and Ryan Broyles all profiling to go anywhere from the 2nd to 5th rounds, I feel very good about value later on down the line.
Get me a pass rusher. I'd love Ingram but I doubt he falls. I'd definitely settle for Upshaw.
Some were speculating today that the Jets may even trade down. I really have no clue what spot they'll end up picking at, but there are a lot of ways they could go with the pick that I will be happy with. Honestly, if we're at 16 and he's there, I wouldn't mind using the pick on G David DeCastro. I know an offensive lineman isn't the sexy pick, but he seems like he should be a solid player. And we all know this team will go as far as the offensive line will take them. Worked well when they invested first rounders in lineman in the past with Ferguson and Mangold. I think its worth the shot if he's there (barring someone falling that was never expected to be available).

On the one hand, I'd really rather not trade more picks since the Jets have 'multiple' needs and haven't replenished through the draft. On the other hand, Tanny has a crappy post first round draft record anyway, so giving up anything besides multiple firsts isn't going to bother me that much.

I have a feeling that next years first would've been involved.
Really? Mangold, D'Brickashaw, Revis are all pro-bowlers. Keller has been better than anyone expected at the time. Sanchez hasn't been pro-bowl calibre, but he's done better than any QB in franchise history playoff wise. The only complete bust he had was Gholston who was the consensus #6 player on draft day. The book is still out on Wilson, but he looks solid as a nickel guy. Wilkerson only has one year, but he looks solid also.
All of the talk inbeteeen picks is normally a waste, unless there's a trade in the works, so it just means I will have no time to get up and go to the fridge as I flip back and forth between stations.
I would. The draft is the single most overrated event in sports from the fan's perspective.
The top 10 is cool. The rest of the 1st round is alright. The second round gets boring and the 3rd round and beyond is a bunch of players who aren't going to have huge impacts aside from a select few. Most of the players drafted after the 3rd round are a bunch of "who?'s" to the majority of people who watch college and NFL football. Plus, each pick is 15 seconds of annoucning the pick, 2 minutes of highlights, and 13 minutes of Mel Kiper saying the same thing he said 15 minutes ago about his top 10 remaining.
Plus, people like to pretend they know a lot about the players being drafted despite seeing a full game of 95% of the players drafted maybe 2-3 times. Really, everyone just recycles things they say on SportsCenter or various online mocks.
I was watching bits and pieces of the draft preshow and when they were introducing the players (weird enough), I was wondering why Taneyhill was getting booed, it's not like there's any kind of a rivalry with the local teams...then I heard all the stuff about how Miami might select him, that Sherman was his coach in college and now OC in Miami, so I was like 'oh that explains it, preemptive booing from the Jet fans'
